Jack walked through the corridor asking around. He had hitched a right on Phoenix, but the company was terrible. The commodore had a major stick shoved in the wrong place. He was anxious to get to work, but had to report first. His inquiries had led him to the lounge. When he entered he definitely felt out of place. His first thought after the scuttlebutt over Tarawa's last mission was the somone died. He hadn't taken the time to change into dress uniform, but he was scanning the crowd for the CO or the XO. At least, then he could deposit his orders and get working.

She stands by her seat and speaks up. "Everyone please take your seats. I am happy to say that we have an open menu so feel free to pick what you like. I also would like to thank all of you for indulging me for this formal dinner. As your new CO I think the first formal dinner should be with my crew. Please enjoy." She sits down. She See's a Marine Captain walk in not in dress uniform. " Pardon me for a moment." She got up from her seat and walked over to the Captain. "Captain Bradley? You did know this is a Formal dinner?"

No ma'am, I can't say as I did. He said feeling like the kid called in front of the class. I've just arrived on Tarawa not longer than ten minuts ago and was reporting with my transfer orders.

Takes a seat By Kaz and smiles.

She nods to ED and then looks back to the Captain. " Very vell Captain see the quarter master get your quarters and join us as soon as you can."

He salutes and hands her his orders. As long as I'm going, would it be alright and if I stopped by engineering for a little spot inspection?

"No there vill be time for that later if you have any questions your 1st Assistant engineer is already here in fact that vas him that just past us." She took the PADD and returned his salute. " See you when you get back Captain." Smiles.

He points to Winslow. You with me. He though if he had to make a mad dash to change into a monkey suit he was going to get a briefing in the porcess.

He gets up from his seat and walks over to the Captain.

He turns to leave. Walk with me, you can brief me on the state of my MENG as we go.

"Yes sir. I can give you some Gen. But you might want to be given the old chief a bell he knows more about Main engineering then me I've been on the night shift most of the time and did not do much. "

Walks with him down the hall away from the dinning room.

Getso to his assigned room after a brief impatient talk with the quartermaster. "I don't want to talk to the old chief he'll tell me things I already konw. He'll tell me about procedures which I plan to change anyway. No, I want to know about morale and those little things that only someone doing the job would notice.
