He saw Colian return to her seat with her plaque. Her cheeks had a slight reddish hue to them.
Buford walked over to her after the Captain Dismissed everyone "Congratulations Colian" he says "would y'all like any thing, I'm going to get a RootBeer" he adds

Jim stepped down from the podium, and walked over to the table where he had set his bag. Sitting, he picked up his Padd, looking over the data regarding the SIF and everything that Samek had completed.

As the ceremony wound down, or at least the fact that Captain Harsting’s speech was finished, she took the opportunity to excuse herself from the table she was at. She retrieved another of the red wine that was being served, and walked over to where Captain Harsting was sitting.
She had never met the man, nor had she any reason to directly trust him or anything of the like. But, as she reminded herself, her brother trusted and respected him a great deal and that was good enough for her. She walked up to an empty seat next to him, cleared her throat, tugged on her uniform “Excuse me Sir, would you mind?” as she indicated the empty chair.

She looked at him and at the floor for a moment, after he toasted to the most attractive feline. If she was human she would have blushed.
She sipped her charwar, "The Captain strikes me as a nicer commanding officer then the other one was. I hope other ones queen returns to him so he can stop his grieving."

She looked at him then the floor and his ears tilted forward slightly as he thought he could sense embarrassment in her as he complimented her
She then changed the subject by commenting "The Captain strikes me as a nicer commanding officer then the other one was. I hope other ones queen returns to him so he can stop his grieving."
It took him a moment to realize she was talking about Comm.. now Colonel Grant and Ann's sudden departure from the Terrasect without a word to anyone. He shook his head slightly, Personally, he could not care whether Ann would treturn to Grant or not
"I have not felt the loss of losing a queen and from Grant' s reaction of losing his, I am hoping I never do. Perhaps one day she will return but it is hard to tell what that female will do" He learned from experiance not to try and second guess what Ann may or may not do
Captain Harsting, I feel is much nicer and less strict then Mr. Grant but he can get rather... testy should the situation call for it" He looked amused and then took another drink of his charwar water

Leaning back in his chair, he began. "How are you adjusting to life aboard the Terrasect?"

Samek stood, making his way to the bar. He looked to Tog, and once he had served a couple of crewmen who had gotten their drinks, he asked. "May I ask what varieties of Vulcan Tea you carry in your stores?"

"No, feel free.” Replied Captain Harsting, Jadzia smiled, and took the empty seat. Her actions a bit stiff as her body seemed to protest the uniforms constrictions more and more; eventually she sat all of her 130 lbs into the chair. "How are you adjusting to life aboard the Terrasect?” She smiled awkwardly, not exactly sure how to answer the question “Alright I think.” She sipped at her wine, constantly having to retuck her night black hair, “It’s a bit different readjusting to a Starship versus a Space Outpost…” she smiled “regardless of the luxury afforded by the Terrasect.”
She was careful in trying not to spill the wine on uniform, although it would give her an excuse to get out of it, she didn’t want to have to deal with getting another one; she’d make sure she stop with the alcohol when she’d reached her limit. “That and all this interpersonal interaction is a change from the long hours in a weapons lab and the isolation resulting from being posted with a few hundred people that thought they knew more than each other; so it’s still a bit strange.”

Jim nodded thoughtfully. "I can see that. Terrasect is a rather large ship. Rotating crews and all, it takes quite a while to get used to it, especially after, as you said, the isolation from being posted with a few hundred people. I used to be posted at Lab 37 at Utopia Planetia. One hundred seventeen people. Most of us were there most of the Martian year, so... yeah. I don't know if you've ever been stuck in a lab module with that many introverted warp field specialists." He smirked. "There might as well have been 6 people there from my perspective."

"Spice tea will suffice." Samek took a seat at the bar, awaiting his order to be fulfilled.

“I don't know if you've ever been stuck in a lab module with that many introverted warp field specialists. There might as well have been 6 people there from my perspective." Jadzia laughed, or more accurately giggled, at the thought. “Yeah, it’s an odd feeling to be in a room with a hundred people or so and yet feel so very alone. After long shifts, I often had to remind myself that the voices I was hearing WEREN’T in my head…” she giggled again.
She sipped her wine, and tucked her night black hair back behind ear, but changed her mind and let it drift off her head to cover the left side of her face; she was always self conscious about that scar. She looked around at some of the officers in the room, and shrugged her shoulders as her eyes came back on the Captain. “But I’m guessing that I’ll have a lot of the same here aboard the Terrasect as well; from what I gather, my last name’s not going to win me a lot of friends around here.”
She worked on her wine a bit more “I’m guessing my brother didn’t have the biggest ‘fan club’ aboard.” She said with that damnable school girl smirk, and shrugged innocently “I’m usually the one with the ‘color reputation’…” that smirk still across her face.

She drank her charwar, "I haven't seen very much of the ship. Would you like to show me around?" she asked GrabFoot.

He blinked when she told him that she hadn't seen much of the ship since she's been aboard and asked him if he wanted to show her around
He remembered that she is one of the newest members of the crew, save for the younger Grant. He also hasn't had much time off the bridge as of late and he didnt know he would get a better chance to see the lower decks. Sometimes, he wished he could shed the weight of command and just be himself but other times, he did enjoy the rigors of command
He took another sip of his charwar and then set it down "Yes, I would" he told her then offered his arm
He pondered where he could take her, the more scenic or interesting points on the ship but then he inwardly shook his head and thought of just walking whereever the path led them
