"This is what's been bothering you hasn't it? That little episode of yours back there had nothing to do with the flight." He understood how she was feeling. This undertaking was a big step and a big chenge for all of them, especially him. This is always something to be expected. "If you want to talk about it, it's ok." Hitomi nodded, feeling quite embarrissed, glad he was turned away from her at the moment. It seemed silly when somebody else said it like that. Her fears about this place being so perminent and that maybe this would all be for naught. "I just.... " She looked away and dug a small hole with her boot, "I just don't know. It seemed like such a grand adventure when I signed up. A chance to make an impact on history and the galaxy... and now... now I don't know. I am here and I can't go back. It just feels final, Sufficating and destructive at the same time. Like I am singlehandedly doing the one they they teach you in med school... 'First do no harm.'

He laughed as he saw the animal "Yes I was always told in fruits and vegetables if animals can eat it so can we"
He the walks along with her until the reach a clearing with a stream in, like the pond you can see the bottom "Yes this most likely feeds into the pond" he takes out his surveyor glass and scans the clearing
"2.5 acres deep 6.8 archers long flat as a pancake, perfect site for the settlement estimate we walk 3 miles to get here, so we can expand the city as needed" he says putting his glass a way
"If that apple is eatable with some of the berries and we catch some fish I could make us all some dinner tonight" he adds

"Yer correct in the assumption that if an animal can eat so we can, but this is not home. Everything must be tested cause on face value it might be, but tricorders can only do so much. And its best to err on the side of caution."
"And yes I tend to be cautious but the lives, and heath of everyone will depend on my findings. I will not toy with that. But so far things seem to fine."

He smiles "Yes I understand it may not kill us but spending 3 days on this planet with the runs would not be fun either" he laughs
"If the test are done in time maybe we can eat the food tonight if not tomorrow" he walks to the streams edge and kneels down watching the a fish swim by he reaches in and pulls on out after a few tries "Got one might as well test it"

She laughed, "I haven't the extensive testing materials I'd be needing so unless you want to be carrying a dead smelly fish I'd put it back. Dun be so impatient, haste makes waste yer know. We best be getting back with our few prizes."
She picked a flower on the way back. "You know I think the doctor would like this better then the what reminds me of an apple. Naw, here you give her the flower and I'll give the doc an apple." She giggled thinking of what she would say.
"Since we got to see whats here see if you can find something for Troy and the Major. That will something for each one of them."

"Lets try and find something different for each one. This way they also get a chance to see somethin. Its so pretty here especially after being cooped up on ships and stations for so long."
"Wish Ivan were here too. He would have loved it, I'm betting ."

He looks around to see what he might find "I'm sure he would as well as the others" he spots a tree covered in Bloom in the distance "Theirs a tree with Orange blooms on it, we could pick some and mark the location see what fruit crows their" he says

"Lets get back I'm sure they're getting worried bout us." They walk into the clearing and she picked up a piece of vine. As they walked she made a crude bow and arrow for the major.
"What do you think of this for the major? I doubt it could much but still its somethin."

"I just.... " She looked away and dug a small hole with her boot, "I just don't know. It seemed like such a grand adventure when I signed up. Like I am singlehandedly doing the one they they teach you in med school... 'First do no harm.' This was not going to be easy for any of them, he thought. It wasn't as if they were old hands at starting colonies, and transience was probably not a thing either of them were used to. Like the Doctor, Ravin too, felt as if he had deliberately burned his bridges. "I wish I had words of wisdom for you, Hitome. But I'm no sage." ::He smiled:: "But one thing I do know is, it's ok to be afraid. I think that anyone who has ever done anything important has been afraid. I know I am." He continued to arrange the pads and checked the control to make sure they were online. "You know what I think? It's not just about the colony, or the planet, or the moving. I think that everyone here, myself included, is doing this because we're all looking for something for ourselves. Sometimes the prospect of finding what we truly want can be more frightening than the thought of never having it." He got a positive signal from the scanners. the ship signaled that they were receiving. "I don't know your circumstances, Hitome, All I know is, I took steps to keep myself from chickening out. Something told me that this was what I had to do, and where I was needed. That scares me a lot more than I've let on."

She nodded in understanding at Ravin's words. It felt good to know that other people also understood how she felt. To be honest, being one of the first people on a strange new world was both exciting and frightening in equal parts. Was it any reason that last night she had brought up dinner in a rather dramatic way?
"I guess then, we have only each to lean on then, as I am sure many here have no way to return to their past either."

He wandered off down the beach when Skye and Arron went off on their own
As he took pictures he thought of the new life that he and the Colonists were going to be making here. As Transportation Director, it would be his job to make sure everything and everyone got to their destinations safely
Plus this is a brand new world with no one living here, yet. With everyone pairing up on the ship, including him and Sarah, he was sure there would be a baby boom and the local population would increase dramatically
He walked back toward the shuttle and then saw Hitomi and the Governor over by the trees where they met the sand. Ah approached them, he could hear them talking. He slowed to a stop and with their topic of conversation, he turned back and went back to the shuttle
looks like Cupid made another match, he thought, with amusement, to himself

"I guess then, we have only each to lean on then, as I am sure many here have no way to return to their past either." "Return to the past" He smiled. " That isn't something Human beings always like to do. Rather they prefer to move on. I think we did what we did be cause if this project is going to be a success, and I think it will, it requires our committment." "Yours is a position in this colony that is very integral. VItal to it's survival. Could it be that maybe you're afraid that you're not big enough for this? That's certainly one of my fears." " I can only be reminded of the words of Marcus Aurelius Antonius, who said: "Nothing happens to anybody which he is not fitted by nature to bear".

Hitomi could only nod at his words and look away again, back to the wide expanse of ocean so close and broad it could swallow them in an isntant and not even notice. It was true, She was very fresh still out of Medical School and this was an assignment no established Doctor wanted. To take care of several hundred colonists on an unsettled world. The odds against them would take a Vulcan to calculate.. yet here she was, Trained but untested. Learned but unknowledgable.
Wisdom comes with time, she could only hope they had enough for her to gain it.
"Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking... "She finally found her voice again, though it was rather tiny. "they really must have been desperate to have picked me."
