He walked in and saw the look on her face. It was a look of weariness and pain. She had been asking questions tonight also and probably not liking the answers. She had a cup of coffee in her hand and a far off stare. She was looking at a picture of Davey that sat on her desk. He just wanted to throw his arms around her but he hadn't earned that right yet. He sat the bottle down on the table. "I think tonight we need something a little stonger than Iverson coffee dont' you think?"

She looked at him and smiled weakly, "I think so."
She walked over to him, putting her cup down she hugged him tightly. She needed to hold someone, someone who understood.

She held him tightly and fought to hold back the tears. She knew, understood and even calulate acceptable loses, on paper. When it was your people it was different. Even if you were within the AL zone. She knew for at least a few days she would see the faces of the ones near her in her mind.
"Lets have that drink. Straight up"

"I was worried about you too, when I allowed myself ot think about it. " He downed his shot. "I hoped your stubborn determination would see you through." He paused and thought for a moment. "Ivy, found myself fearing your loss. I think I've fallen in love with you in a short time. I can't say for sure because its never really happened to me before."

"How's stubborn? Not me." she said with a smile.
"I care a great deal for you Marc. More then I have for anyone since David. I have walled up my heart opening it only for Davy. And then you came along."
"I am so close to loving you Marc. But a part of me is scared, scared of losing someone else."

I know that youa re afraid of losing me as you did David," He took her hand. "I'm telling you that I'm not ready to leave because there's some things here I haven't completeed yet. It isn't until you are facing death to things become so clear, and I had been denying those feelings. After thinking about it love was the only explanation."

She smiled at him, and nodded. "Does this me we're a couple?" She knew what she felt but wasn't ready to admit it yet. And so she reverted back to her teasing nature.

I think we were that already. He said with a slight smile. The more important question is are we exclusive. Ivy, I won't push you to say more than you are willing to at the moment. I haven't known you long, but I do know when you are deflecting." He stood up and walked around to her side of the desk. "I only know that if we are all here for a limited time I don't want to spend it being anything less than honest with you. In this room, when its just you and I, I want everything you can give." He kissed her letting her passion telll her what he could not say.

She returned his kiss. "I think you know the answer to asking if we are exclusive. Yes we are. But you do have a major competitor." a teasing smile crossed her lips.

I don't consider him competition. He smiled back. He and I are buddies and we have you in common.

"Your sure about this? I came as a package deal." her expression was dead serious. She was sure she knew the answer but she needed to hear it.
