She relaxed when she realized that there was not a security/police matter to attend to. That perhaps that it was an old injury that the doctor was looking at
She smiled at the twin that spoke to her, feeling it was the twin she was interested in "I would appreciate that, sir. Anywhere you would like to go would be fine with me"

How about we go to the repliamate area and talk about it. I promass nothing embraising for my brother to tell about how he landed there but I will tell you the truth. He then walked with her to the gathering area that the crew and passangers alike could come to eat and visit. He saved my life that's how he got that injury. A horse I was breaking in reared up on me. Didn't see it comming. He shoved me out of the way. I was sure he cleared but the horse landed right on his knee and messed it up pretty badly. He got it fixed but still limpted around. Now, to hear that they didn't fix it properly. Just angers me. To know he had to go through all that pain because I wasn't paying attention for one second.

While Modern Medicine had made the washing up before surgery all but a thing of the past. Each surgical bed was equipped with a sterlization field that would keep everything out, Hitomi still went through the proceedure. If anything, it was a very nice bit of ritual to get her into the frame of mind needed to do surgery.
While she washed up, the nurse assigned to the Mercury prepped Ivan. Getting him into a smock and setting up the instraments that would both disrupt the information his nerves sent to his brain, and those that would allow quick and easy repair the damage inside his knee.
"All set?" She smiled to Ivan as she moved around the bed where he was now restrained. A quick check to the bioscans showed he was nervous, but nothing else. "in an hour this will be all over, but as this is only a minor surgical proceedure, all we are doing is numbing your leg." She motioned to a screen above him. "you are welcome to watch and ask questions all you want."

The nurses where very nice and respectful of his person letting him talk to Skye before preping him for surgery. The Doctor in formed him of what was going on and his nerves seamed to show he wasn't one to sit still and the stillness part of it was what was bothering him. He was restrained on the bed trying to relax finally he spoke. Dr. Yamazaki I trust your skills and wish not to watch the procedure. Just be instructed on what I can do to help you work in the most efficant way. It is customary in my culture not to question the person who is helping us. If they are an exspert in their feild. I just want to be back on my feet without any pain. I do have one thing to warn you about my family. Local anistesa tends not to work on us there is some sort of gentic marker that makes us immune to it. So, if you wish to put me under you can but I assure you I have endured much pain and my body will pass out if it is too much to block. He smiled at her. Old heardsmen trick.

She nodded at him, agreeing to walk with him to the gathering area, where everyone ate and visited with each other. As she walked with him, she listened as he explained what happened to his brother, wincing a bit as he got to the part where the horse had fallen on Ivan's leg before he could get out of the way
When he finished, she spoke up. "I am just relieved that you or him was not killed" especially Cerius "Horses can be mean spirited when they think they can get away with it" Not that she would know. She really didn't know much about horses but a friend that raised horses told her that one time "It is unfortunate they could not fix his knee properly. That is their fault. I doubt he would want you to beat yourself over something that could not be avoided"

I have pounded many a bulkheads to make my peace with the incadent. Even yelled at God a few times. Horses always will love you if you love them. Breaking their will to run is the hard part once that is done and the horse knows you are there just for their protection and to give them what they need. To be their partner then they will never purposly harm you. He almost spoke to her in Armaic but had to catch himself. Sorry was going to speak to you in my native lanugage. But what I was going to say is this. Horses are like women. The hardest part is to tell them that their spirit is their's to have, and that myself as a man would honor that only being there to help and provide what she needs to be the best and the happyest.

She continued to listen as he said "I have pounded many a bulkheads to make my peace with the incident. Even yelled at God a few times. Horses always will love you if you love them. Breaking their will to run is the hard part once that is done and the horse knows you are there just for their protection and to give them what they need. To be their partner then they will never purposely harm you."
Horses have a free spirit and you really have to gain their trust in order for you to get them to do what you want. Mostly they do what they want, and if they don't like you, they won't let you ride them. Time and patience is a virtue with them" Another thing her horse-trainer friend told her.
She smiled a little when he told her that he nearly spoke to her in his native tongue "That is alright. I would not mind, even though I would not understand what you said, unless you taught me"
She laughed a bit when he compared women to horses. She'd never heard the analogy before but she found it was very true "Yes, like horses, we have our own spirit and a will that is hard to break. Like a horse, once we find a man, or partner that we like, we'll want them as a partner for life. It is a matter of how well you react with the horse, or a woman"
She found that she liked being with this man, which is a rarity for her. Most men rubbed her the wrong way

I understand that there is an exspadition of sorts going on right now that some of the colonest are going on to check the sites out that we will be settling in. Shouldn't you be on that or are you opting to rely on the reports to make your security assessment?
Either way it was none of his busness but still he wanted to hear how she dealt with her craft. His craft was raising the animals and sometimes people. He felt obligated not to hold anyone back from their craft.
I do not mean to sound like I am not enjoying the distraction but I do not wish to be the cause for you having difficulty with your craft.

He switched subjects off of horses and women to ask her "I understand that there is an expedition of sorts going on right now that some of the colonists are going on to check the sites out that we will be settling in. Shouldn't you be on that or are you opting to rely on the reports to make your security assessment?"
She nods "There is an expedition, of sorts, going to see what the best place to try and build a Colony that will last for generations. I went to the meeting and saw the sites that had been picked out. I thought they would be equally dangerous as far as defending against animals and wildlife. I am sure the marines and the other security will help in the defense in that. My craft is defending the colony against the human animals that like to steal and do anything illegal"
She had been watching the Ivan and Cerius from afar, she noted that they always thought of others and tried not to place any burdens on others, especially Ivan. She smiled at him, appreciatively for his concern "Don't worry, Cerius. I enjoy what I do. If anything should come up that I would need to leave right away, I would let you know. I'd take care of it and I would be back. if you continued liking my company"

A young, clean cut and very green Jason Kapica makes his way to the up to the USS Mercury's living quarters. He has been doing various job's, mostly heavy lifting in the cargo hold. He has orders to report to "Myrna Quinn "ASAP to get instated into the security/police force. He makes a quick detour to his room, where he gets cleaned up and puts on a fresh pair of civvies. He quickly checks his hair and makes sure he is freshly shaved. Jason then secures his room and goes in search of the chief of police......no doubt getting lost along the way a few times.

A passing security officer from the Mercury would pass by, then notice the young kid was seemingly lost. She would turn and politely call out to him
"Excuse me, are you looking for someone, sir"?

::Jason turns around as he thought he was being spoken too. He pulls out his PADD and meticulously looks at it before looking up ::
I am sorry to be a bother but I am looking for a Myrna Quinn. I was told to report to her ASAP for a briefing and induction into the police/security force. The ship is bigger then I am used too and I been down in the cargo holds most of the time. If you could direct me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
((sidenote----Jason stands 5-10 and weights 172 pounds. He has a clean shaven face and pushed back, black hair. He is very young and single ))

The security officer that asked the clean shaven person if he was lost looked a bit thoughtful "Myrna Quinn, Myrna Quinn.. Oh!" She remembered seeing a tall athletic woman who could box the ears of most men in the Mess Hall where the Colonsists met "She, and the other colonists, are in the mess hall relaxing before they reach the colony at Sandoval City"
( OOC: how young is young, just for curiousity's sake? )

{{sidenote- Jason looks about 17 but he just turned 21}}
::Jason looks down at his feet, then back to the security officer::
Do you think she would mind terribly if I approach her in the mess hall.........I would sure hate to bother her while she is eating. The thing is I was told to report to her immediately and don't want to give off the wrong first impression. I greatly appreciate the information and I hope I don't seem to bothersome but could you point me in the direction of the mess hall.
::Jason chuckles nervously::

She looked at the person and could tell he was nervous and unure of himself. She thought she would not want to be around someone like that, especially on a star ship. One false move and he could get hurt, or someone he's trying to protect
"If it was me, I would want any new people to report in as soon as they could, to let them know you're here. Whether I was eating or not. I would be more upset that the new recuit didn't report in right away" She then smiled a little innocently "but that's what I would do. The Mess Hall is up 2 decks and down the hall to the right. Can't miss it"
