"computer, record...
For now it seems that I am assumed command of the USS Frontier, I really have no clue on where the current... Former CO has gone!
As this year starts to come to an end, I find myself reflecting on the actions over the past year and wondering if the choices I made are the right ones. I guess only time can tell.
During the conflict we had we lost a lot of crew members, I have added their names to the computer that will transmit to command as soon as we are within range.
The crew members that we do have, I have no doubt that they are not only talented but knowledgeable as well.
We finally found out why Vasset, our former helms-woman never boarded, she had received a transfer to another vessel, it seems she did so just in the nick of time based on where we are now though luckily Vasset was replaced with someone else.
Currently our new helms person is White Whisker, her ability to pilot the Frontier is unparalleled, she was even able to fly the frontier through an asteroid belt without sustaining any damage, truly impressive. Though she seems to harbor some animosity towards her home planet... Something about not being seen as an adult?... I will relay on her greatly in getting us all back home in one piece.
Our new Engineer, Simon Thorn... He seems to be extremely knowledgeable about the Frontiers systems and seems to be highly adept in making small, what he calls doodle bugs? He also seems to be extremely attached and protective of whatever he builds or fixes... Almost like a mother protecting its new born, I hope he takes as much pride in the Frontier as he does whatever he makes.
Our doctor, Shadow Wind... A person of very little words but I have faith that they're able to hand their own dues, they must otherwise they wouldn't be a Lt. or a Dr... I just hope they're ready for the trials and tribulations that this new; region will put us all through, which goes for the rest of the crew.
Finally, our marine... Our Marine Commanding officer. A man with extensive knowledge, I don't really know why but I seem to turn to him more then anyone else for their opinion, weather he knows it or not I will probably be looking to him the most for his knowledge of tactics and I'll probably be sending him more often then not for first contacts on the ground.
As this year comes to a close, I pray that the crew is prepared for what the new frontier will bring and put us through... I don't think anyone is, especially myself.

Well, we've had a few interesting weeks. Started off with myself and windstorm being arrested for crimes we didn't commit. Of course through the efforts of Mr. Stockwell the charges were dropped in court.
Our newest mission is to go to a planet near the Delta System, starfleet wants us to investigate the planet in more detail before sending colonists. I forsee this mission being fairly laxed and easy going - a nice change in pace for the crew of the Frontier.
During our voyage to the planet I was able to sit down with a few members of my senior staff, namely Eric Moon, our CNS and Simon Thorn, our chief engineer.
Where to start with Eric? Fascinating fellow, he's dating our science officer and comes from a family of therapists. Overall impression is that he's really just a normal very likable guy thats just trying to make a name for himself.
As for Simon Thorn, he's a tricky one... He's really not very social and I sense something in his past that he doesn't want to talk about. But where he fails in his social life he excels as an engineer with truly a very impressive resume... I would be surprised if I saw him move on to amazing things.

Well, we've landed on the planet. Thus far this planet seems extremely hospitable, the water is clean and clear. There are virtually no toxins in the atmosphere and the soil is just dirt. One thing we have founded interesting is that there are trace amounts of THC in the blood system of the local wildlife. Its fascinating because its not at levels that would actually effect the animal. Either way, we need to let starfleet know that there is cannabis some where in the area.
Overall though, I think we're all getting ready to nickname this planet "Heaven".

This planet is beginning to seem a little less like Heaven, though I sure its a natural course in the ecosystem, where there is wildlife there MUST be predators.
Gerry was just attacked by one such predator but now that I think about it, its really more like a parasite. To the limited information that I'm getting through Eric its something like a tick and its left Gerry completely paralyzed. They've tried to remove it, to include using a phaser but it seems to just get angry and use its tail thats wrapped around Gerry's neck. It also seems to have an interesting ability, it seems to have super fast healing.
I'd send down a transport or transport them out but thats proving to be impossible as a severe storm system in in the area... I wonder, is this storm system and this bug some how linked? Ticks on Earth are attracted to cool damp areas so it seems only logical to assume so. I just hope that Lizzy can get to the bottom of this before its too late.

Well our Khagan figured out a way to get the tick off. Basically she sent a chemical signal to the tick that told it that it was full. The good news is that the tick is off and its dead the bad news is, it poisoned Stockwell with a toxin called Tetrodotoxin. A toxin thats been known to kill in 20 minutes to eight hours, its average is four to six hours. However, Stockwell strikes me as a survivor and I feel that he'll pull through and be alright.
As for Khagan, I see no reason to correct her actions. This was an alien lifeform that starfleet has never encountered before. We had no way of knowing it would react this way. However, I'm sure that if she did more tests she could have had a better idea and avoided all of this but on that note. I wasn't there and I am not the ships doctor anymore.

Starfleet has given us a mission that they've place a high priority on. We're ordered to intercept and return a vessel that was stolen by its crew over 100 years ago. Evidently, no ones never heard of this ship because starfleet was embarrassed. My knowledge about this ship is extremely limited. Really, all I know is that its the USS Newfoundland, and excelsior class. Its the only one of its class that still has a transwarp drive. This ship for reasons unknown to me has stopped for now in the gas cloud of a super heated gas giant.
Our mission specifically is to: Starfleet has given the Frontier the honor of intercepting this vessel before it jumps back into transwarp. Our mission is to intercept, extract the data from the computer core and if possible deactivate the transwarp drive. If deactivation is possible, secure the Newfoundland for tow to Earth Space Dock.

::walks into his office and takes a seat staring on the computer screen as his mind makes sense of the words he wants to say::
Computer, begin recording...
Another year comes to a close and I again break bread with what I believe is the best starfleet has to offer. And I assure you, it is not them who is honored - It is me.
Over the course of this year we have fought many enemies some humanoid, some microscopic, and some... Still elude capture today.
We have sailed this fine ship through the wretches of hell itself, even survived several time anomalies. We search an enemy that has captured two members of our crew and forced them to fight as gladiators in an arena; and survived. One of our crew members have even suffered partial amputation and yet her faith in our mission and her purpose never flinched. Again, it is I that is honored to be in their presence.
We stand here and reflect on last year and remember the day that White Whisker was H/Ops then honored me by accepted a position as XO. White Whisker continues to be a wondrous asset and a competent leader.
Gerry Stockwell, our science and tactical officer, probably the best and most proficient security officer I've seen yet. Not to mention he has an excellent sense of humor. Several times when I thought that the mission has been to harsh, he has made me laugh.
Jayson Bond, our versatile specialist, a position well deserved. He continues to amaze me in his wealth of knowledge is several ship functions.
Simon Thorn continues to be our CENG, though he has no prowess as a member of an away mission he is still quite possibly one of the best engineers in starfleet. Without him this ship and her crew probably would have been ship wrecked by now.
Dr. Khagan, a newer member to our crew. Honestly I have not spoken to her much but from what I'm told she is a competent doctor but her bedside manner needs some improving but to be honest... I'd rather have a rude competent doctor then a kind doctor that hasn't got a clue.
Eric Moon is our CNS, he's been invaluable during the tribulations of this year keeping the crew of this ship mentally healthy.
Windstorm, now Major Windstorm, continues to be our MCO. I believe that his abilities as a marine and competence as MCO are unparalleled. Hopefully his strengths will improve our weaknesses.
Armitage was moved to MXO earlier this year. She seems to be a deeply troubled young lady but she also had her infant cut from her womb and stolen from her. However, I still believe in her and her ability to achieve greatness. My only hope that with Windstorm tutoring her, she will become the officer that I know she can be.
And finally, Lizzy Cooper, our science officer. Lizzy had a tough year, probably had it harder than anyone else. She was held prisoner earlier this year and cruelly tortured to the point where she had a portion of her arm amputated then left to die. Her strength and willpower humbles and inspires me daily.
I truly am blessed and thankful for this crew. Many of which I love as my own brother and sister. I would willingly die for each and every one of them. In all actuality this isn't a crew - this is my family; all 2000 members.
