Name:
Sabina Jackson
Gender: Female
Age: 28 Standard Earth years
Home world: Bajor
Species: Bajoran
Physical appearance :
Medium height, light brown hair and brown eyes.
Current assignment: Chief Medical Officer, USS Cold Harbor
Biographical information:
Sabina was born Kara Sabina on a Bajor. When she was a small child, her parents were taken to a labor camp run by the Cardassian Occupation when they were accused of being members of the resistance. Survivors of the camp reported their deaths a few weeks before the Occupation ended. Sabina escaped the same fate because her parents told her to run when they heard the authorities had a warrant out for them. Sabina was left an orphan and survived by being taken in by neighbors, where she moved from house to house until the end of the Occupation.
She was 10 years old when aid workers from the Federation found her at a refugee camp and adopted her as their own. She moved to Earth with her new parents and her name was changed to Sabina Jackson. Like her adoptive parents, she wanted to become a doctor and help other people in need. She occasionally follows aspects of Bajoran culture, but she prefers to not to dwell on the past and enjoys to follow aspects of her adoptive culture.
Persuaded to look into Starfleet because they often reported first to places with a great need for doctors, she applied to Starfleet and Starfleet Medical School soon after graduating her secondary education at the age of 17 (because of her birthdate, intelligence and her parents private tutoring, she was skipped forward a year in school instead of held behind). She attended Starfleet Medical School, where she graduated 8 years later near the top of her class at the age of 25. She interned aboard USS Durango for a short time until accepting the post of Chief Medical Officer of USS Optimus. She served aboard the ship for only a few months, until it was decomissioned. After leaving the Optimus, she practiced medicine at a variety of temporary postings, going wherever she was needed until she got the offer to become the Chief Medical officer of USS Cold Harbor.
