*** ^^^ Terrasect Story / Action ^^^ *** As the Terrasect limped, compared to her Fleet renowned speed, towards the Starbase, it appeared as if there was no ‘returning to normal’ for her crew. With repairs underway, the Terrasect became more and more useable as the hours ticked by, and the crew’s frayed nerves began to repair themselves and an almost eerie calm began to settle over most of them; that is with the exception of the unlucky souls dealing with the issue in Sickbay. Time Advancement: 6 hoursWith the expert skills of Major Kinesly in Engineering, the Terrasect was able to make Warp 7 without worry. Granted, normally it wasn’t anything to brag about, but considering what all has occurred in the last 10 hours or so, it was something to brag about today. With the increase in Warp, the time that was needed was shrunk considerably, taking only a few hours to reach the Star Fleet Security Starbase. Arriving in the Sector, the Terrasect slowed to impulse and began hailing the Starbase. Scanners would show two Federation Akira Class Cruisers in orbit, but ‘dead in the water’, and the planet that contained the Starbase appeared heavily damaged. Scanners would read no life signs, and would not be able to report who did the damage, as there were traces of Romulan Disruptor, Klingon Disruptor and Dominion Plasma weaponry about. No other information is discernable at this time.

Over the next 6 hours Buford would increase the Warp speed from 2 to 4 to 6 Finlay Warp 7 "Warp 7 Sir" he reports to Grab Foot was he monitors LRNS
2 hours later they arrive in the sector Buford slows to Full Impulse "Slowing to full Impulse" he reports
His LRNS pick up two Akira Class Cruisers, and the Security Sarbase Buford's ears raise when the Starbase doesn't hail them he knows they would be on the LRS

Over the next 6 hours, he listened as progress reports and repair information came in. He nodded to Buford as he reported that warp 7 was obtained. Still slow to the speeds that the Terrasect can achieve, it is better then nothing
2 Hours later, Buford reports that we're nearing the coordinates that he gave him and he was about to say slow to full impulse when Buford announced that he had just done so. He looked down to the monitor that he had pulled in front of him. It contained most of the readings that the ship was receiving, from Ops, Tactical, Helm, Engineering and so on. Speaking of tactical, he had shifted control to the command chair in the time that he's been sitting there
He see the Akira class vessels that came on LRS. He thought that was a bit strange then caught the movement of Buford's ears lifting in what looked like surprise. He read further on the sensor readings and his own ears lifted to attention. Star base heavily damaged, no life signs, tactical scans would reveal signs of Klingon, Romulan and Dominion weapons fire. He read further that the Akira's were drifting or very close to it. He pushed the monitor to the side and stood, wondering what had happened. Whatever it was, it wasn't good. He pondered the thought of taking the ship to yellow alert, but there was no danger, for the moment. Actually, it never hurts to be cautious. He turned slightly and tapped a key on the command chair, changing the alert status from Green to Yellow.
Turning to Ganessa, he'd ask "Any life signs coming from the Akira cruisers?"

“Please don’t go…” Ann said, and Samuel’s limbs went numb, his heart was in his left little toe. Her voice triggered a response in him that he hadn’t felt in a few years, he stopped his exit and froze momentarily. Three words, three simple words, and Sam knew immediately the difference in her voice; it was Ann, the Ann that he had developed feelings for. His mind, stomach and heart felt as if they had been thrown into a Quantum Field Generator and tossed about for thousands of light years. He wasn’t sure what was wrong with Ann but something within him told him that this was the ‘real Ann’ and begged for him to stay; which he would do.
He turned and returned to the bed side, stood to her right, and held her hand as he had done before. “I’ll stay as long as I can, you know me; Duty first.” He said with as warm a smile as he could muster at the time “And I think this qualifies as Duty right now, Ann.” His smile grew, as confidence and his morals began to re-solidify within him. “Is there anything I can do?” he asked, both to Colina and to Ann. He was by no means a Doctor, nor even a skilled nurse, he’d only received Field Triage Training during his Academy days; delivery, especially xenos delivery, was not covered.
As he stayed within the room, he noticed the scenery change around him. He saw the ‘hazzard’ lights around him illuminate, but heard no klaxons sound nor a security alert activated, which only meant one thing; Yellow Alert. A look of concern grew over his face, he knew Grabfoot was on the Bridge and was by know means a ‘rookie’ officer who raised shields at everything. The hair on the back of his neck, and along his spine, stood up and began to tingle… ‘If you're willing to listen, space will tell you all you need; she's ever patient…’ played through his mind, something his mentor Captain Marcharius had told him over and over again. He looked down at Ann, winked “I’ll be right back, I’ll just be over here…” he squeezed her hand and stepped a few meters away from the bed towards the side of the room, although still within it.
Tapping his combadge “Grant to the Bridge, Report!” There was an eerie feeling that came over him, Samuel couldn’t place what it was, but his concern grew rapidly. He listened intently to the information that Lt. Cmdr. Grabfoot passed on to him, which wasn’t much, but then again there wasn’t much available from what he was hearing. Thinking, he knew the Terrasect wasn’t in the best shape for a fight, but if whoever was still around, they couldn’t run; there were over 500 people aboard Starbase and the planet, not including the 400 crew between the two ships. “Commander; get the Terrascet into ‘cover’ ASAP and keep the scanners going, I don’t want to be surprised. Keep me informed!”
Sam then returned to the bedside, re-clasping Ann’s hand, he smiled again “Looks like things may be awry, I’ll stay here as long as I can.” He knelt over and kissed her forehead. If this wasn’t the Ann he’d developed feelings for, or if this was the way the Drak were, multiple personalities and the like; he was sure he would need to see a consoler…

OOC: I had this posted in sickbay orginally but it seems that I had the wrong impression and its been reposted here. Sorry for the confusion, I didnt realize this would be more then a sub SL. Re: Role-Play: Sickbay « Reply #3 Yesterday at 4:07pm »
Location Sick bay
Takes place six hours later then the new SL starts.
Colina was at her desk finishing up the last of the blasted reports. It seemed that CMO actually meant Chief Memo/Report Officer. She laughed slightly at that thought. It had been a very long day, and she looked forward to a hot meal, hot tub, and good book. When she received the com. With a sigh she got up and looked for Nurse Fong.
"Fong, there ya be, get exam room 2 set up. A female patient, we'll be needing a history on her too. Let me know when she gets here."
Unfamiliar with her race, Colina went into her office and accessed the computer for any and all references to her race. Including, reproductive. One could never be sure and it was best to be prepared.

He heard Ganessa relay the information she had on her control board. From her readings, it looked like a dismal situation, no sign of life, only signs of death and destruction. Just as she had finished, he heard the call from sickbay, aka Grant, requesting a status report and why he had placed the ship on yellow alert
He relayed the information that had came across the Tactical, Ops, Science, and Navigational sensors: Zero life signs and signs indicated that there was a lot of death and destruction, seemingly done just recently. After he finished, he heard Grant's next comments/orders: commander; get the Terrascet into ‘cover’ ASAP and keep the scanners going, I don't want to be surprised. Keep me informed!”
His tail twitched but he looked amused. Of course, he would tell him the minute that anything would happen. Surprise was something that he didn't like to be either but all he said to Grant was "Yes, Sir"
As the comm was cut, he turned to Buford, "You heard the man. Let's find some "cover". Take into orbit around that planet and position us at the southern pole. Hopefully we can use the Planet's Magnetic interference to mask our presence if anyone should return. If you have any better suggestions, Let me hear it" He knew the Terrasect was in no shape to get into a battle with anyone at this point in time. If it was up to him, he would continue on to SB 234 for repairs, but he knew it was not up to him
He paused a moment then added "If you can get a trace on that warp signature, let me know that as well"
He then waited for Buford, or anyone else to repond

Buford listens to the talk on the bridge, hearing Grant say commander; get the Terrascet into ‘cover’ ASAP and keep the scanners going, I don't want to be surprised. Keep me informed!” Then shortly he hears Grab Foot say "You heard the man. Let's find some "cover". Take into orbit around that planet and position us at the southern pole. Hopefully we can use the Planet's Magnetic interference to mask our presence if anyone should return. If you have any better suggestions, Let me hear it"
Buford looks at his console "That Works Sir,only Ideas I have is near the sun so were hid by the brightness, or hid in an Asteroid, and I'm not to keen on that last one Sir" he says his tale wagging
Buford hears him say "If you can get a trace on that warp signature, let me know that as well" he assumes that is for Ganessa
Buford moves the ship to the Southern Pole and angles it so they can maintain scans , Buford wags his Tail "At the North Pole we might see Santa" at his Humor to and old earth legend

He heard Buford's suggestion about hiding out near the sun. He shook his head, thinking that wasn't such a "hot" idea. "We would also have to deal with the sun's radiation and heat. With this ship in bad shape already, I think that would only compound our problems. Shields are not up to full strength. As far as asteroids go, that's what got us into this mess to begin with. I'd just as soon avoid any asterioids for the time being"
As he sat back down in the command chair, he heard Buford's Santa comment. His ears tilted forward, wondering who this Santa is but then a part of his mind said don't ask. so he didn't

Computer, Begin Acting Captain’s Log, Stardate 65399.66:
With the expertise of our own ‘miracle’ worker Major Kinsely, we’ve been able to increase speed to Warp 7; thus drastically reducing our time to the Starbase. With that bit of good news, I had begun to feel a little more comfortable knowing that we’d be home that much sooner and the Terrasect could receive her hefty repairs. Unfortunately, as space as a sense of humor, fate has decided the throw in yet another monkey wrench.
Upon dropping out of Warp, we’ve found the Starbase and her guarding Starships ‘dead in the water’ and a drift, with obvious battle damage; there are even signs of an orbital bombardment. This location was supposed to be classified, and both the Starships carried ‘science equipment’ that would make them not appear as combat vessels, even through they were.
There are no life signs, nor bodies for that matter, that we’ve been able to locate; which gives me a hint of hope that maybe, just maybe, we’ll find most of the personnel alive… somewhere…
Operations have picked up a residual warp trails, but currently are not able to identify what they are or where they went; which gives me an unsettling feeling that they may be cloaked. In addition, there is a single unknown ship that is also floating derelict near the Starbase. This ship, about the size of a Federation Runabout, doesn’t come back to any Starfleet Record on file, it could be one of the attackers; possibly a ‘fighter’ class ship.
While the Bridge Crew is currently bringing the Terrasect into closer orbit, to reduce the chances of us being detected, and are continuing to scan for hostiles and survivors. I’ve decided at this time, to stay with our ‘guest’ Ann as she appears to be going through the Drak’s form of child birth. Although I’d prefer to be on the Bridge trying to solve this current mystery, there isn’t much I can do other then pace and agitate the Bridge Crew, so I’ll stay in Sickbay.
Regardless, something is awry out there…
Computer, End Log Entry.

There was only darkness that surrounded her, the shear silence was enough to drive even the most seasoned soldier to insanity; she had no way of knowing if her eyes were open or closed other then actually placing her fingers to her face and feeling the pain of accidentally jabbing an open eye. It had been hours, but still her eyes hadn’t adjusted, but there was no way for her eyes to; for it was just that dark.
She used her hands, to feel over her body; all her limbs were there which was a start. The silence, if not bad enough, was compounded by the fact that there was no way to tell how much time had passed, how long it’d been. She felt a sticky, liquidy, substance around her groin/mid section area and knew right away what it was; she was bleeding. Finding this injury, she then began to taste iron in her mouth, and smell it heavily in her nose, the smell of blood was very strong, but she felt no pain around her face, yet she was bleeding and badly. She tried to move, to sit up, roll over, anything, but was not able too. Her lower limbs just refused to follow any directions that her brain was sending.
She continued to lay there, trying to control her breathing and her heart rate, like she had been trained to do. She was worried about her comrades; Arrow and Firebat, Starky and Pitts, her best friend Erin aboard the Tersokis… Where was everyone, what happened. She closed her eyes, or at least she thought she did, and tried to remember what happened. The images burned into her memory were vivid and horrific…
Bright flashes penetrated her thoughts, remembering phaser fire and spatial explosions, the screams of her crewmates that rose even above the explosions; the Xenos… There claws cut through flesh and deranium alike, and force fields hadn’t slowed them down at all either. She had seen a crew chief that she had known for several years, sheered into three sections, with but the merest of effort. They weren’t immune to phaser fire, but it took several maximum level shots to down it; they were a bastard of a beast.
But still, there was that silence, all around her…

She had read the padd given to her several times, and held it while watching her. She was definalty constructing something. She took her tricorder and ran it over her. Stored the readings and wished she had a base line to work form. During her research she could find nothing on them.
"Ann, come over here and lay on the bio bed so I can properly examin ya." She watched her walk over and took note of ther gait, and that her back was bothering her. She came over to her and gave her a hug, saying “I’m happy it would be you! You to be my Kin’Colywan Na.” She looked at her mysified. "What did ya say?"
She stood there watching and then it was if a light turned on. She was building a nest/incubateor of sorts. She went over to Ann. "Is there anything I can do to help ya?"
She knew they would need to talk and work this out. But at least the incubator/nest was in sickbay a place that would lend itself to constantly monitering and keeping the child safe.

Sam was sitting next to Ann’s bed while Doctor MacAuley was setting up the room to offer what aid she could. Sam felt helpless, not only for the fact that there wasn’t anything he could to help out in the exam room, but there just wasn’t anymore information regarding ‘The Drak’ that he could pass along to her; it just didn’t exist. What information was available on them, Colina already had access too, Starfleet just didn’t know much about them.
As Ann began to get up and retrieve ‘items’ from the replicator, he was going to stop her and force her to lie down, but the little voice in his head reminded him “It’s a Drak thing”. He found that he was reminding himself of this more and more, so as to reduce the ‘negative’ encounters with Ann and Kate. As he heard Doctor MacAuley speak to Ann, he looked at the Doctor and gave a surrendering shoulder shrug “Don’t feel bad, she doesn’t listen to me either…” he tried to hold back a smile but failed.
As he thought about Ann and Kate, he realized that Kate had disappeared, which surprised him a great deal; she’d looked so worried and then all of the sudden she was gone. That voice in his mind spoke again, and he just shook his head. As Ann went about her business, and the Colina tried to do her job, Sam walked over to the replicator and retrieved another heavily caffeinated drink and sat back down next to Ann. When she was laying on the bed, he softly stroked her forehead and the side of her face.

*** ^^^ Terrasect Story / Action ^^^ *** As the Terrasect descended into lower orbit, to help conceal it from enemy scanners, it struggled to hold the precision maneuver due to her condition; but she held tight all the same. As the Terrasect steadied in cover, a ship dropped out of warp near the damaged Starbase. The ship was of an unknown configuration and had no distinguishing marks on it of any kind, save for some battle damage that appeared to be rather fresh. It was surprisingly large and agile, for the ease it maneuvered with, about the size of a Galaxy Class Federation Starship. However, in contrast to even the heavily armed Sovereign Class, the alien vessel bristled with weaponary; this could be seen by the naked eye as scanners were not needed and were powered down; only passive scans were online. As the Xenos ship appeared to stand guard near the Starbase, it was ‘pinging’ away heavily with its scanners, actively searching for somethin. With the Terrasect’s systems powered down to hide, there was no way of knowing if they had found the Terrasect’s Warp Signature or anything else for that matter. The Xenos ship stayed on station for around 15 minutes, then warped back out of the system in a blink of an eye.

Buford descended the Terrasect into a lower orbit, concealing it from enemy scanners, he struggled to hold the precision maneuver due to the ships condition; but he held it. As he steadied in cover, a ship dropped out of warp near the damaged Starbase.
Buford looked at the unknown ship, he could see no distinguishing marks on it of any kind, but he could see some battle damage that appeared to be rather fresh. The unknown ship moved with ease and grace Buford could see it was about the size of a Galaxy Class Starship. Buford could see the weaponry on the ship without any scans being need
"look at the weapons on that ship" Buford says to no one person but the whole bridge
Buford watched as the ship appeared to stand guard near the Starbase, "Their hunting for something or someone" He says, He knows there is no way of knowing if they had found the Terrasect’s Warp Signature or anything else for that matter.
Buford just watched as the ship stayed on station then warped back out of the system "Even if we were 100% we have a hard time against that ship" he says "Wander what they were hunting for?" he says
