He enters the Holodeck and waits for Charlie Company to show up, The men run into the Holodeck and line up

He jogged into the holodeck a minute after the others had arrived. He saw that GreatHouse's back was turned to him and he quickly slipped into line before he had a chance to look over the men

Once everyone was present "All right Ladies we will be taking a walk in full gear through the swamps on Level 3" he yells out as he walks down the line he stops and turns to Jackson
"So nice of you to Join us" he says "I suggest reading the ship layout, as your new to the ship I'll let it slide this time" he says "But if it Happens again you will curse the day you were hatched Do I Make myself clear?" he yells

He listened as the boss man layed out what they were too do: a Swamp walk in full gear at level three. He inwardly smirked a little. Level three. He'd done level three, it was a little hard but nothing he can't handle
Greathouse then stopped in front of him and looked straight at him "Busted" he thought to himself as Greathouse layed into him "So nice of you to Join us. I suggest reading the ship layout, as your new to the ship I'll let it slide this time, But, if it Happens again you will curse the day you were hatched. Do I Make myself clear?"
"Sir, Yes Sir!" he shouted in the same intensity, amusement briefly lighting his eyes

He sees the amusement briefly lighting in Jackson's eyes "Well Jackson as your the newest member you can choose 3 miles or 10 miles?" he then backs up from Jackson "This Swamp will have alligators, Snakes, the water is ::He puts his hand up to his midsection which is chest deep to most of them:: This Deep" he says

He heard the boss say that it was him, since he is the newest member to choose how long this hike would be, 3 miles or 10. Then he backed up, telling him the waters will be filled with alligators and snakes and the water would be, on him, about waist high. On him, it would most likely be below his rib cage. If he was trying to scare him, he needed to try harder
"I choose 10 miles, sir!" He was used to 10 miles, 15 would give him a good workout

He smiles "10 miles it is" The rest of Charlie company look at Jackson with anger in their eyes
He turns to the holosuite door "Level 3 swamp" he then opens the door "Lets Go Ladies we got 10 miles to walk" he motions them in

He could tell that didnt set well with the other boys. He looked back at them defiantly, as if telling them to suck it up and they could do it.
When the boss said let's go, he made his way in and started putting on gear

Thirteen hours till Iverson was back and a next move could be planned. Jack thought about it, and the thought just made him antsy. The ship was in order, engineering was in order and he had to wait. This was far from what he expected when he transferred from the Marine Corps of Engineers. Having nothing better to do, he gathered several of the phaser rifles and side arms and went to the holodeck. "A weapon unused is a useless weapon." He thought. He was sure firing a weapon was a last resort so these weren't used very much.
The Marine ships were all equipped with compression phaser rifles as standard issue. Jack fired one of them at each setting. One thing he noticed is that most were set on wide beam dispersal or heavy stun. He changed the setting to pulse fire. The one thing that is taught in both starfleet and Marine academy is the use of wide beam dispersal. Its a great setting, but is best used for crowd control. The majority of the missions tend to have that element, but pulse setting saves power. Engineers understand that though you have a recharge on these rifles and side arms it does take time. Most standard phasers can only fire ten shots on a full power before they need to recharge. He knew that security and Marines checked their weapons constantly for firing accuracy and range, but he was a tinkerer and was looking for anything that might be missed because it would not be checked on a standard maintenance. He replaced of few slightly warn grips, and some of the coils. These things would only served to make the weapons more accurate, but Jack needed it busy work since he hated waiting. Besides, it gave him an excuse to squeeze off a few blasts and he needed the outlet.
