Once they reached the triage area both Colina and Fong placed her gently on the bio bed. Colina immediately began to run the medical scans.
"What happened Lt? Are you nauseous, or feel like your gonna have diarrhea? Where is the pain centered and how bad is it?" She had a genuinely concerned look on her face.

Sam received a call from one of his Officers stationed at Sickbay that there was concern with the fire systems in the area, as someone was smoking. Sam found this very odd as nobody really smoked now-a-days and alien crew, not yet anyw… “Ann…” Sam laughed and shook his head. He acknowledged the FYI and headed out of his office and towards Sickbay.
Exiting the turbo lift, Sam was still laughing, if she was down here, then things were just gonna stay ‘busy’; this he was sure of. He spoke to the officers stationed at Sickbay, then entered Sickbay. He could barely smell the smoke, as the air recyclers would have all but cleared it out of the air by now.
Sam was sure that the Chief of Engineering would give the system an overhaul, but Fire Systems was kind of a grey line between Engineering and Security. Sam figured he’d take a look but that the Chief could do a much more thorough job. As he entered, he noticed the Doctor assisting a cloaked individual into an exam room and saw the tail of Lt. Grabfoot enter another, he raised a questioning eyebrow but it wasn’t any of his business.
He walked over and pulled a panel of the all, and pulled out a tricorder and scanned the system, which he withdrew from a walled engineering kit. Sam ran a couple simple overview diagnostics on the system…

He turned when he heard footsteps approaching and he blinked at the new person that came out. He noted that she held her stomach like she was in pain. She glanced at Ann and then to him and he felt a slight tingle in his head as she briefly brushed his mind. His whiskers twitched in mild annoyance "You are correct. My name is GrabFoot Of Two Dawns and I would appreciate it if you stayed out of my head"As he grew up, his father told him that he was born with the ability to read people's minds and feel their emotions. Grabfoot had asked him how he was able to do this and his father told him he was not born an Eeiauoan but as a Betazoid and then went on to tell the story of how he became a Eeiauoan ( long story too ) He shook his head to come back to the present, hearing the new female ask about a burning man. His ears tipped forward and then he looked to the female's stomach for a moment and then asked "You look to be in pain. Are you feeling alright?"Eele wasn’t too concern of the objections of being read. As she only made light readings and stray thought of Grab Foot of Two Dawns and Anne Knox. As a telepath reading others isn’t something can be easily controlled. It takes a lot of work just to not pick up thoughts of others. Normals doesn’t understand that other minds just screams at her. Eele felt that the cat man might have some telepathic abilities as she felt a barrier. Understanding this she turns her attention to the other woman. Her mind she knew she felt before but now it was void. Eele wanted to focus or balance her thoughts and how she read things. Sadly she couldn’t maintain her composure as her stomach hurts. Hearing the concerns of both the cat man and Colina she felt nice. ‘I’ll be alright. It’s just the intense emotions of the burning man that I think makes me feel ill.’Seeing Lt Covous come over holding her stomach. She grabbed her by placing her arm around her waist and putting Lt Covous' right arm over her shoulder. "Fong come and help me. And you Lt Grabfoot Of~Two Dawns return to your room so I can asses your "cure" properly. then looking at them she said "I will be right back." Eelennia was quickly held up by the sweet Colina and the assistant. She felt strong feelings of concern coming from the Chief Medical. Feeling her feelings was intoxicating but she wanted to wait for what the others say of her inquiry. Ann’ looked and saw another freak walking towards them. She thought, ‘Lord of the Rings much!.’ She found this hooded freak slightly creepy…also annoying. As the sound of her name was about right but not meant to be as two names. “Elf woman from Riverdale…my name is ‘Ann’Knox’ and that’s one word.” She looks towards Mr. Grabfoot, “You are correct. My name is GrabFoot Of Two Dawns and I would appreciate it if you stayed out of my head.” She quickly looked back at the strange woman. “Ehay! You better do the same…my head isn’t a open book.” As she points at her and ducks down to see in to her hood. She thought it might look like a slimy thing that resembled a squid. Pondering that so far there was a feline, canine and now Miss Doctor Doom. It must look like a dingbat or something more ‘horrendous’ then smoke.
“Do you know of anything of a burning man? He wouldn't look like any of our uniform she was this tall and severely burned” Ann’ immediately knew what this strange woman was talking about and she quickly said. “Sorrie but no.” Ann’s face shifted quickly to this stoic manner and then started to walk out before anyone could say anything. The thought of ‘root beer’ popped back in her head and she walks out of Sickbay. She passes the guards and steps in to the Turbo Lift but before telling it to go any where she thought to peek around a bit. Many of what Anne said she didn’t understand. Eele gathered they were references of things of her culture. Her mind was complete devoid of thought unless she was blocking her. It was similar to what she picked up of cat man yet different. Eelennia knew this woman is hiding something. As her verbal actions suggested one thing but her mind was blank. Something is not right with this one and with her answer of the burning man. Eele felt she know something but what? Once they reached the triage area both Colina and Fong placed her gently on the bio bed. Colina immediately began to run the medical scans. "What happened Lt? Are you nauseous, or feel like your gonna have diarrhea? Where is the pain centered and how bad is it?" She had a genuinely concerned look on her face. Chief MacAuley helped her to a room and her deep concern really touched her. ‘I don’t think is my bowels but I think its my symbiont but I hear nothing. Like before I told you but I felt it move. It all began with the horrible smoke smell and I think it triggered that emotion. Of the burning man I said of before, Doctor? I do not trust that woman. She knows what I am talking about I’m very sure of it.’

As he heard the voice from the bridge again, his ears picked up so that he could hear her better, as if he had a problem to hear her from the beginning. His ears tipped forward when she said that it was no problem at all for not discussing his personal feelings. He thought to himself that others would have continued to press him to talk about it, which would upset him more, enough to tell them they shouldn't stick their tails in a slicebill's nest ( in other words, still their nose in where it don't belong ) He hen nodded, thinking that he may like this new person that's on the bridge
As she posed her question about a game of poker when his shift ends, his interest peaked even more and he tried not to sound too eager
"I would like that very much, miss..." He then realized he had never gotten her name "... I'm sorry, miss. I do not seem to recall getting your name" Even though, she had gotten his somehow
As he spoke with the female on the bridge, a familiar scent drifts in and catches his nose. He immediately went on the defensive. His fur spikes, ears lay down on his head and he hisses, turning in the general direction of where Grant is. He pondered the thought of leaving sickbay right there and leaving a quick medical scan of his shoulder on the biobed for the Doctor when she finally decides to clear him for duty. He didn't want to be anywhere near where Grant is and he wished he wasn't on the same ship but then he thought if he wanted to follow his heart, he could make some sacrifices

"Lets take a look." Colina turned the scans on, reading them as they started. Unable to find anything, she then focused the scans on the symbiont. They showed that he was fine. But why was he so still, and why would he react so violently to the smell of smoke. Unless. An idea began to form in her mind.
"When ya smelled the smoke, was that when ya got the image of the burning man? What can ya tell me of the incident with the man, and the burning? Could this reaction be from that incident or one similar that your symbiont experienced?"
"Also, I want ya to be keeping a journal of when ya get these attacks for lack of a better word. If, your symbiont experienced something that traumatic he could have become silent. And then, your being only half Tril could explain why your connection is so weak"
"I'm be keeping a here tonight and for observation. A few of your reading are elevated enough to cause me some concern. If all goes well, I'll release ya in the morning. I want ya to rest now, I'll be back soon."
After leaving her room she went to recovery to check on the feline. He was fast becoming one of those she saw as more of a pain in the neck. She took a deep breath and readied herself for another round.
Entering his room she found him in a conversation. She stood to the side looking at his latest readings, paying no attention to his conversation

He was still a bit bothered by the presense of Grant as Doctor MacAuley entered his room. He watched her as she took her scans, waiting for the female on the bridge to respond. After a minute or two, he would ask her
"Does my shoulder meet you your approval, Doctor?

"It would appear she was able to do something. But to be honest the majority of the healing was done before hand." The annoyance in her voice was clearly heard. "Your still on light duty until tomorrow evening. Who knows if what did will last."
She then lead him though a round of ROM (range of motion) exercises. Watching him and the movement of his shoulder. There was no sign of discomfort or rough movement in the shoulder.
"I'll discharge you, but remember your on light duty. You lost enough blood and that needs to be replaced fully until your feeling up to par. Next time leave the safety protocols on."
"Now, if you have no questions your free to go."

As the doctor answered, he could sense the annpyance and the sarcasm coming from her. He nods when she mentioned the light duty "I remember the light duty, doctor but as I said before, if something should endanger the ship, light duty is over"
He went through the range of motion thing with her and passed with flying fur, eh, colors.
His whiskers then twitched at her as she mentioned something about leaving the safety protocols on. He responded "Safety protocols is for kids or someone with no claws. It also takes away from the experiance of the hunt"
As for me, having any questions, I have none. I do have this to say though. I hope that I will not need your services again, doctor"
Without waiting for a response, he bolted out of there, passing Grant as he did. Exiting sickbay on a high lope, he skidded to a halt then dashed up the hallway towards the nearst TL, making his way to his quarters, hoping for a quick nap

She watched him run off and laughed softly, she couldn't help it. Reminder her of a small child running off after seeing the doctor. She walked out and then saw Grant. Taking a deep breath she walked over.
"Hello, Lt Commander Grant. When did you want to talk to me?"

Sam watched as Lt. Grabfoot exited Sickbay, rather quickly he thought. Sam wondered if there was more that had happened since the last time that he had served with him, as he seemed a difference person, but if his instincts were correct… Love does that to a person... “Sour puss…” the thought to himself, has he grinned and let a small laugh escape after Lt. Grabfoot had departed. Although Grabfoot wouldn’t have seen nor heard the laugh, everyone else in sickbay that may have been looking at Sam would have seen him shake his head and grin.
Sam continued to read the tricorder readings, but the system looked fairly normal, no major problems. He figured he’d turn in a work order for the system to be checked, but figured that no alarms were activated as the amount of smoke and heat produced wouldn’t have been in a large enough quantity.
Sam turned around to replace the tricorder and the kit in the compartment, as he did so he was startled to find the good Doctor standing right there; he dropped the tricorder on the ground looking like a fool. Figuring he’d become to distracted with his inside joke, not even accounting for the lack of sleep, that he’d let his guard down and the Doctor got the best of him.
“Doctor?!” Sam startled, taking a deep breath and letting out a humored laugh “My apologies” he began, as he picked up his dropped items “you surprised me.” Sam replaced the kit and turned back to the Doctor. “Well, I’m notorious for not setting appointments and just walking in open doors; but I’m here know and if you have a few moments…” He trailed off “Your office?” he inquired.
Sam didn’t want to tell the story again, but he knew he had too, the Doctor deserved to know the whole truth; for what it was worth. He just had to make sure that she knew the severity of the situation “Privacy is key in this situation.” he said, as they started towards her office.
"Oh, one more thing, unless it's something majorly official; Cheif or Sam or Samuel would be fine... My rank is not something I flaunt around." Sam reached out his hand just before entering her office, in a friendly 2nd time greeting.

It was hard not to laugh when he dropped his things and then showed the visible signs of being startled and slightly embarrassed. She knew as a Chief Security officer he would have prided himself on not being easily surprised or so unnerved that he would drop things.
"Sorry for startling you. I guess as a Doctor, over the years I learned to walk quietly. So as not to wake sleeping patients."
"My office will be fine, right this way." She knew he knew his way around sickbay but old habits were hard to change. As they reached her office she saw his extended hand and took it shaking his hand.
"Nurse Fong, I am not to be disturbed unless there is emergency. Keep a watch on Lt Covous." She knew that was sufficient, Fong would know what she wanted.
After they entered her office she walked to the replicator and got a cup of Earl Grey Tea and some oatmeal lace cookies. "Lt Commander, I mean Samuel, would you be wanting anything? If so, help yourself I dun stand on formalities." Carrying her cup carefully she went to her desk setting the tea down she then took her chair. "Make yourself comfortable."
"The door is locked so you can speak freely now." She differently curious but would not ask further until he began. One thing you learned as a Doctor, was to listen.

Sam ordered a “Caff” from the replicator, and sat down in a chair next to her desk. He took a rather large gulp of the drink, and placed it on the desk. He thought a moment, unsure of how to begin, but he began rubbing his left knee, aside from it’s uniqueness it bothered him from time to time; fatigue brought on by lack of sleep and stress only added to the uncomfortable.
“Well let’s see, ‘It was the best of times, it was the worst of times’…” Sam smiled, as he always had a habit of being humorous, mostly, he couldn’t help it; aside from the fact he didn’t like talking about the injury anyway.
Sam slapped his knee and looked back up at the Doctor; “It’s artificial” he began “not just the joint, but everything from 25 centimeters above my knee down to my toes. Old war injury…” he said, trying to smile, but the images were back in his mind and the smile faded away quickly. “It’s a combination of Borg technology and uncertified medicine; combined with some interesting engineering skills.”
Sam looked back at the doctor, and could see the intriguing yet unconvinced look on her face. He couldn’t blame her, how was he supposed to explain this damn bionic/nanite/biological disease he carries within him. Thrice damn the Dominion and their biological weapons they gave to the Cardassians, increased in potency by the Founders. “Go ahead, you may scan me with your tricorder.” Prior to the start of the scan, Sam reached down and flipped a notch that was under his boot, where the ankle should be, this dropped a minute sized cloaking/masking field that covered up this ailment from scanners to help keep the secret.
*Equipment Action* Medical Tricorder –
Scans would show that the skin was real, although slightly different on the tissue level as it wasn’t Sam’s natural grown skin, but repicated. Deeper scans would show that there were active nerve endings, blood flow, cells, muscles, everything that would be in a real leg. Continuing with deeper scans it should show a completely never before seen skeletal structure, not human, not alien, but a combination of bone and machine; almost naturally ‘stitched’ together, as if the bone and machine healed themselves around each other.
The scan would show that although there were working veins pumping blood, the blood pumped in the leg never passed the ‘separation’ point above the knee, and was automatically recycled back through the system of this ‘artificial’ limb. There was also an unidentified poison that was mixed in the blood, along with a large amount of nanites that were acting as if they were part of Sam’s immune system, fighting this poison.
“I walk, limp, run and jump normally, I even feel pain and pleasure from the nerves in my leg. I had a choice when they did the operation, I could have had the feeling removed from my leg, but I didn’t want to feel like a machine, so they reattached all the nerve endings.” He said, he rubbed the knee a little “It gets stiff every know and then…” stomping his foot on the floor a bit, trying to wiggle some stiffness out, he looked back at the doctor.
“I have a Cardassian Rouge assassin to thank for this. Got jabbed just below the thigh by one of these tipped blades during a boarding action aboard the USS Bull Run about 3 years ago; a story for another time.” Sam sighed, heavily, the images of the battle still running through his mind; the killing, the maiming, the destruction, the horror, Jennifer.
“I should have been dead, should be dead actually, but had it not been for some quick thinking my Je…” catching himself “By an engineering officer, a medic and minutes later the ships surgeon, I would be.” Sam took his drink and had another couple large downings of it and continued. “You see, this poison is in a away killing me even know. It’s supposed to, as far as Starfleet’s best has been able to find, pollute the system in minutes, cause secretions, which will contact others and do the same to them; having 1 person infect and kill countless others until it has nobody else to spread too. What they were able to do aboard the Bull Run was ‘install’, for lack of a better term some pieces of Borg technology that we had been transporting directly into my body. This particular Borg node provides the nanites that you detected which combat the poison. The node and the technology reconstructed all the dead parts of my body within itself, which went all the way up to just about my groin, and created cybernetic tissues, limbs and joints in the infected area.”
Sam paused, he was hoping the enormity of it all was beginning to sink in; it was a lot to swallow after all. “Although it sounds simple enough to have just cut it off and replace it, the poison is alive. Starfleet Intelligence believes it was not only bolstered by The Founders, but that part of ‘them’ was used in its creation. If the limb was removed and exposed to standard living, this poison would explode into a gas and this ‘life form’ could escape.” Sam looked down and rubbed his ring finger, another nervous/uncomfortable reaction he’s had for a while. “You see, I carry this curse with me in the hopes that we can defeat this new ‘guerilla’ warfare by the founders and to protect everyone else. All the other people that had been infected by this died during that attack, some 40 people were struck down by this poison, except me. They initially wanted to keep me in a hospital indefinitely but with it possibly being alive, they didn’t want to ‘tip it off’ that we were developing a way to kill it. The nanites keep it pretty distracted and guess are within the next 4 or 5 years that they’ll overtake the poison completely and I can return for another surgery to become completely human again. But until then, I must bare this burden alone; that which took over 40 of my cremates and friends.”
“This has been kept a secrete since it happened, as I’m sure you can understand. The Doctor that preformed the surgery was wisked away and now works unnamed somewhere for Starfleet Medical, the engineer that worked on me was promoted due to her inginueity and transferred to a post of her choosing… Then their’s me. The only reason I’m here is because my former Captain vouched for me at my Court Martial hearing, again another story, and that Captain Harsting requested me.” Sam finished his cup and fiddled with it a bit “You see Doctor, this type of thing is bigger then all of us, that’s why I came off the way I did and acted that way. My apologizes if you found it disrespectful, but as I’m sure you could guess, it’s not exactly my favorite topic to discuss.”

I feel there is something about the ship or it’s of that woman, Anne. I felt and saw the image of the burning man a few hours in my office. I don’t think it’s of my symbiont but ether that I can tell you it’s not possible. What's more I smelt the smoke just after you leaving my examination room.’ Eele answered Colina trying to make sense of the images she received. Along with a possibility that her symbiont is calling out to her of images she dare not want to see again. She took in the suggestion that Colina told her to do. She felt safer being in Sickbay then back in her office. The smell was still strong to her and the images seen were terrifying. Eele was relieved that the pictures wouldn’t ever burden anyone else of the crew. She even prayed for the woman that was rude to them a few moments ago. Resting on the Bio-bed it she thought about what was said to her. Scared that whatever her symbiont gone through might have been daunting for it. Praying there with the help of this wonderful person Colina. She was confident that it would be resolved or at least clearer.

During his entire explanation she remained quiet. When he finished she got up to get a second cup of tea. Her mind working a mile a minute, while her face showed very little.
She sat down and took a sip of her tea. "And this is why ya presented your "get out of jail card"? The tricorder verified what ya told me including the age of the scars. What did ya think I would do. Run into sick bay screaming your condition? If so, ya have little respect or knowledge of my calling."
"However based on the lasting effects of what was done to ya, I can now understand your hostility to me. And hopefully, in time it will pass. I have to consider everything ya said and do some very discreet research to have a better understanding. Which in turn will assist me to treat ya proper should you need it." Just as she was about to say the next sentence she taught better of it, and let it drop.
"Ya secret is safe here. Now ya need to trust me. And now that I've said what I need to say, tis best to move on. No sense in rehashing or asking for all manner of apologizes since understanding said it all. I will keep ya informed should I learn anything that has not be shared."
She smiled then took a sip of her tea looking at him over the rim of her cup. Her initial feelings changing slightly. "Now I need to speak to ya, and ya candor is needed."
"Who is this Anne Knox? Why is she here and why does she come to me to ask for a hypo spray for "personal needs"? When I told her, I *canna do that*," Stated with strong emphasis, "without a physical first and a discussion as why she needs it, she ran off as if a demon was after her."
"I dun trust her, nor should you. Especially if she has a "personal need" for enjoyment. Which will lead her to seek out an individual who will give her what she wants. And if it was for medical reasons why not have the physical? I would never deny care to anyone should it be valid."

Sam laughed as Colina mentioned about running into sickbay screaming "No Doctor, I wouldn't think you'd do that." Once regaining his composure, "I also ment no disrespect, but as you can guess, I don't enjoy talking about it. And the information can't just be left on some data file for casual review." Sam finished his drink, got up and had it reclaimed, as he turned to sit back down "Although Grant's are known to hold grudges, some older then the stars themeslves, we are also quick to forgive and move past. I would like to think that my previous actions could be attributed to more of my embarassement and discomfort reliving my past nightmares more then any 'dislike' that you may have thought I may have for you or your position."
Sam reached in his pocket and retrieved a small security chip crystal and handed it to Colina "This contains all the security clearence codes for you to gain access to all the classified files. It may be confusing at first, but it's not under medical records but weapons R&D" Sam's shoulders shruged as he finished "go figure."
When the Doctor changed topics, Sam relaxed a bit "Please, my door is always open and I'm more then willing to talk about or listen to anything..." catching his own comment "Well, with the exceptoins of a few things but I'm usually pretty straight forward with those." He grinned.
At the mention of Ann, Sam's eyebrow raised and let out a sigh at the same time. "You mean Ann? Now that's a doozy of a story." Sam recrossed his legs and took a deep breath "Well, the Readers Digest version is she's a being from an entierly different universe; an unknown alien dimension. We know of nothing of her kind other then what we have been able to learn from her; which unfortunately isn't much. I know she's got a temper and an attitude, she hates Sickbay and most of what the Federation stands for. Her technology is far past anything we've seen which makes her dangerous and she's very unperdicitable. She visited the Terrasect the 1st time just over 6 months ago, if I recall trying to escape from something. She stayed around a while and sorta helped us during the Ktarnium incident. She then appeared to die and disappeared." pausing a moment, Sam rubbed his knee "A few weeks later, during a seperate situation, she reapeared with what we consider her 'sister' and all hell broke loose. We ended up fighting her on the Terrasect; sent about 2 dozen people to sickbay, I think the doctor then was able to save them all I recall. I killed her sister, albeit temporailiy and Ann revolted; she became hostile, then disappeared."
Sam paused, it was a lot to take in, he was sure the Doctor would sleep well tonight with as exauhsted as she probably will be. "A few hours ago, she yet again reapeared aboard; hence the yellow alert and our friend Lt. Grabfoot's rather upset attitude. Yet again, Ann is different this time, I'm still trying to figure out what is going on. She seems much more, for lack of a better term, human this time around; but as I said, I'm still trying to investigate what the real story is." Sam was still trying to put the peices together of all that was going on, when the Doctor mentioned the Hypospray, a different look overtook him. "Wait a minute, she was here? Let me guess, the smoking cause..." Sam shook his head "She asked me for one a few hours ago, I told her that civilians generally weren't allowed to have one, but she wouldn't go into detail at the time. I've seen puncture wounds around her neck, but they could be attributed to an infinte amount of things because we don't know her kinds social structure. The benifit of the doubt being given, I wonder if these 'puncture marks', the Hypospray request and her attitude change is all linked... Hrm..." Sam sat quiet a moment as he ran all the informatoin though his head. When she mentioned the fact that if she couldn't give it to her, she'd find somebody who will, Sam's face took on a sour and pitiful look "Tog..." he sighed deeply "You know, sometimes, what I wouldn't give to have some cake detail on a Starbase in the Sol system..."
