"We shall see on that venture." He paused, then looked to Samuel.
"Commander, that PADD details the updates to security fields, changes in power distrubution, as well as additional fields added throughout the vessel. I felt it prudent for you to be knowledgable of the changes. There are additional damage-control force fields that have been added per my recommendation to help ensure the safety of your forces in any crisis situations. EPS Taps for most damage control systems have their own power source that should last at least 15 minutes in the event of a hull breach and power separation from the main power grid. All upgrades mentioned shall be completed by 0430 tomorrow."
He looked at the Captain, and then back. "I shall now take my leave, and return to Engineering. There is much work to do." At that he saluted, and then started towards the Turbolift doors.

Jim smirked at Samek as he started off. He sat back down, putting the PADD in the little slot that held up to five PADDs on the side. An engineering team had exited the Turbolift that Samek was heading to, a few of them going to various access points, handling various tasks.
Jim looked then to Sam. "Samek may seem a little cold. But he's a good man, and a hell of an engineer. That Vulcan efficency is invaluable at times."

She stepped of the shuttle onto the space station, carrying her duffel bag, her walk was brisk. Reminiscent of the walks she took on the highlands of Inverness. But this time it was not wind nor cold that quicken her pace, but the excitement of a new assignment. She asked where the Terrasect was docked then immediately set out for it.
Ah the sight of her was indeed impressive. A truly bonnie ship she seemed from the outside. She showed her Padd with her orders to the security check point. Smiling she inquired. "Have you seen the inside of this great vessel?" The guard shook his head and she proceeded up the walk entering the ship. After a quick stop at the quartermaster, she went and put her things in her room. Checking the map of the ship for a general feel, she inquired "Computer locate Captain Harsting." it answered immediately "He is on the bridge"
She walked out of her quarters, and still at a brisk pace she entered the TL. "Computer Bridge." Within seconds it stopped and opened its doors. She stepped out and immediately saw a handsome, tall man, light of complexion, with a definite air of command. She went directly to him.
"Sir, Chief Medical Officer LT jg Colina MacAuley."

Jim glanced over as the Turbolift doors opened again. It definitely a busy time on the bridge. He saw a woman approach wearing a blue uniform. He stood up as she approached, and took the offered PADD. He heard her say "Sir, Chief Medical Officer Lt. Junior Grade Colina MacAuley."
He nodded. "Welcome aboard, Doctor. We have plenty of work for you down in Sickbay." He glanced at the PADD, then back to her. "Feel free to settle in, but I must say that since the Sickbay has been completely overhauled, you may want to get to work as soon as possible."
It was true. The Sickbay had been expanded largely due to demand having a much larger civilian population aboard the ship. The expansion included it's own triage area that housed nearly 20 beds, not including other areas across the hall from sickbay. This refit had effectively created a whole "wing" for sickbay and medical sciences.

She reminded herself in the words of her father,"Waste not a minute in attending to your work, hasten to perfect that which you can, lass." She grew up hearing all manner of sayings and it helped to teach her to think on the meanings of things.
"Aye Sir. I shall attend to it immediately. I must say I look forward to the challenge of a ship that also has a fair amount of civilians." With that said she saluted and left the bridge. "Computer sickbay."

Her multi-faceted eyes glittered.
"Thank you, Sir!"
With her long legs, it was only a few steps to her station. Her six "hands" had only three digits each, the equivalent of two fingers and a thumb but they could be surprisingly dexterous. She could work with as many pairs as necessary either in unison or independently.
Tapping the keys to activate the monitor and bring the console online, she then split the displays, running two programs and watching one with each eye. The Godrey, her previous ship, had been an exploratory vessel outfitted with highly specialized equipment for studying and locating hyperstring activity. What it had in equipment and speed, it lacked in size and weapons and so, could only be sent out for a few weeks at a time at most. Mapping the sector was painstakingly slow. Saia thought that it might be likened to early explorers trying to accurately chart the coast of a continent. There were bound to be errors and once the job was complete, it was only a picture of the past structure they had, for these "strings" were in constant flux. The hope was that eventually that they might find some type of pattern of predictability.
The assignment had taken 33 months to complete, but it had whet her appetite for more. When she returned to her people, she hoped that the Federation would someday ask her to return.

Ganessa looked at her PADD to see what ship she was assigned to and began to make her way to the docking ring of where USS Terrasect was docked. She practically knew the Starbase and was glad to see some old faces that she once seen. Before she applied to Starfleet Academy, she was one of the bartenders on the same Starbase. Once she saw what time it was on the chronemeter, Ganessa made her way through the airlocks and onto the ship.
She was stopped by one of the security guards that was standing there at the airlocks and explained who she was. The security guard gave a nod and let her through after he checked on his PADD to make sure she was on there. She smiled and thanked him as she continued down the corridors towards the turbo lift. She stepped inside the turbo lift.
"Deck 2.", she said. Gentle brushed a single strain of hair out of her face as she waited for the turbo lift to stop. She felt the turbo lift come to a stop and she steps out on to the deck. Walked down the corridor towards her assigned quarters. She tapped in her security codes, walked into her quarters and placed her belongings aside onto the table. Ganesa began to unpack her belongings and place her clothing into the dresser drawer. Placed a few holopics of some 'old' friends on top. She picked up her PADD as she exited her quarters, made her way down the corridor and into the waiting turbo lift.
"Bridge.", she said to the computer. A few brief moments, the turbo lift stopped and she stepped onto the bridge. She looked for the Captain and went up to him once she saw him.
"LtJr Ganesa Ravious reporting, sir.", she said to Cpt Harsting as she handed him her PADD with a warm smile.

The familiar whoosh of the TL opening an the arrival of the Doctor snapped her out of her little surprise at seeing the new Science Officer for the first time
She placed her hand on the end of her nose, feeling a little embarrassed for staring. She wondered if the Science Officer has recieved such a reaction before from other people. She could remember her and Fetch Storm recieving such stares and looks of curiousity when they first entered the Academy on Earth. She heard the new doctor and the Captain exchange a few words before the doctor turned and left the bridge. She then heard, then saw, the arrival of another female, reporting in to the Captain for duty
She made a mental observation that there were only 2 males on the ship so far. She dismissed her observation and returned her attention to the Tactical systems and her upgrades

Sam thanked the Cheif Engineer as he took the PADD that he was offered from him "I'm glad that there are other's thinking of the security of this ship and her crew other then just us." Implying the Captain and him. Sam laughed within himself as the Engineer walked away and exited the bridge, replying to the Captains remark "I'm sure he's amongst the best, but he's definately a Vulcan."
Sam greeted each of the new crew as they came an introduced themselves to the Captain. It took all of Sam's inner self and professionalism to keep his 'cool' when he met Lt. Saia. Although he had read her file and had prepared himself, it was almost all for not because she seemed the most alien of all the races he'd severed with. But, regardless of looks, according to her file she was an excellent officer and Sam would get used to her being around just as he had with every other different race he'd encountederd.
When there was but the briefest moment between introductions, just as the turbo lift opened again, Sam turned to Captain Harsting "Maybe we should have Engineering install a revolving door?". Turning back intime to greet the good Doctor.
Sam didn't have much to mention to the good doctor, other then Sam's personal policy of having 2 members of his Security Detail attached to sickbay, just incase. Other then that, Sam bid the good Doctor farewell as she too departed the bridge.

Jim smirked at Samuel after the doctor started off. When he mentioned the revolving door, he chuckled, and stated "Sounds like a good idea."
He then saw Lt. Ravious approach, and Jim smiled. "LtJr Ganesa Ravious reporting, sir.", she said to Cpt Harsting as she handed him her PADD with a warm smile.
Jim accepted the PADD, and nodded. "Welcome aboard, Lieutenant. This is our Security Chief, Commander Samuel Grant." He motioned to Saia, then towards Helm, pointing to Bufford. "Lieutenant Saia, Chief Science Officer, and Lieutenant Bufford Hound, our Helm Officer." Jim then motioned directly behind himself. "This is Lieutenant Tail Kinker To~Eeiauo, our Tactical Officer." He motioned then to the front left. "Operations is at that front station opposite of Helm. None of the senior staff are due on duty until tomorrow, so feel free to settle in, or brush up on the sensor systems at your leisure."

Looking back to her PADDs and station for a brief moment before she heard the Captain do a run of introductions aroound the bridge. Upon hearing her name, her ears tilted toward the Captain and the new officer reporting in. She glanced back at the new officer and as their eyes met, she lifted her hand and splayed her claws in a Sivaoan greeting, before retracting those same claws back into her fingers
"Welcome to the Terrasect" She would say as Harsting paused then her tail spiraled into a small helix when she heard Grant's comment about putting in a revolving door

Studding the Helm's Station he hears the Captain introducing the crew his ears lift up on his name being called looking at the Captain he sees the Ops Officer
He smiles and a low grow is heard "I got work on that, welcome to the Terrasect" he says as he goes back to familiarizing him self with helm
His tail wags on the Captains Revolving Door remark, he didn't understand the joke, but his tail waged happily/laughing as he pictured a revolving Door to get in the Bridge

Ganesa gave a smile, with a nod, towards the crewmembers that she was introduced. It was nice to meet variety of people with their own cultures and to be welcomed by others.
"Thank you.", she replied to those who welcomed her on board. "It wouldn't hurt for me to check on the sensor systems now.", she replied to Cpt Harsting and proceeded over to the ops console. She sat down at the console and proceeded to check the sesnor systems. She saw of how much Cpt Harsting looked so much like his father. Ganesa lived long enough to know some of the (npc) crewmember's some past generations. It was like a family reunion.

Jim smiled. He had a feeling this launch was going to be quite a success. He hoped that the Terrasect wouldn't be thrown into a battle situation, but was sure with this crew they'd pull through.
He stood up, and glanced about. "If anyone needs me I'll... be somewhere on the ship. I'm going to take a look at some of the upgrades and check on the status of some of the teams." He glanced to Sam. "Care to join me or have you other things to do?"

Sam straightened himself up, tugged on his tunic, and with a wave of the hand towards the turbo lift "Of course; after you." As he followed Captain Harsting inside the Turbo Lift. "Quite the diverse crew, I hear we got a lot of 'grade A' shipmates this time around, looks like it'll be an interesting voyage..." Sam paused in statement "Hopefully not as 'interesting' as some of the other 'trips around the cosmos' we've seen over the last few tours..."
