After completing his conversation with the Ensign Zabdiel, Sam locked out his station and grabbed the PADD he had with him. As he was finishing up the review of some information that was on it, he noticed the Captain leave his Ready Room and head over to the Observation Lounge.
With the new Ensign receiving his orders, nothing currently going on security wise, and knowing that there was a briefing very shortly, Sam figured he’d stop in and check with the Captain to see how things are going and to let him know about Ann.
Nodding to the Major as he passed him, he entered the Lounge. “I figured I’d be a few minutes early…” knowing that he was more then just a ‘few minutes’. Sam walked over to the replicator and ordered another ‘Caaf’ and took a seat next to the Captain.
“I wanted to let you know” he began “before everyone arrives, that I spoke with Ann in length per your request. I will say this, she certainly seems like a different person; I mean hell, she even gave up her weapons upon request.” taking a rather generous gulp of his drink, he laid the PADD down in front of him before continuing “She seems like she wants to stay here with us and become a productive member of the crew. But I have found that she is apparently fighting some addiction to some chemical, more like the lack of that chemical.” pausing a moment before continuing “It’s much like the ‘white’ that the Dominion used, from what little I was able to understand from what Ann was telling me. Sounds like it’s used to help keep ‘control’ of her species…”
Sam leaned back and rubbed his eyes, science and medical almost as frustrating with him as warp field and temporal mechanics. “She unloaded a lot of information on me in only a few minutes, and I must be honest that I wasn’t able to take it all in at once. Her story I must say is a depressing one, it sounded as if her people were made slaves and then indoctrinated… It’s all pretty confusing, and heavy stuff, but I’m planning on talking with her again later; probably after the meeting unless something else comes up. Ann has also agreed to visit Sickbay so that we can investigate this chemical imbalance she’s dealing with, but other then that I think there is a good chance that things will be okay this time around.”
Sam continued to sip on his drink and relaxed even more, “So, enough about me.” he said with a smile “How are you holding up? With all that’s going on, new ship, fairly new crew, a mission that has the high possibility of a first contact… All of the excitement the Starfleet recruiter promised.” He said grinning again.

Sam walked over to the replicator and ordered another ‘Caaf’ and took a seat next to the Captain. Jim looked up at Sam as he entered, setting down the PADD he was glancing over that had some of the preliminary data for the briefing. He nodded slightly. "It's not a problem, Sam."“ I wanted to let you know” he began “ before everyone arrives, that I spoke with Ann in length per your request. I will say this, she certainly seems like a different person; I mean hell, she even gave up her weapons upon request.” taking a rather generous gulp of his drink, he laid the PADD down in front of him before continuing “ She seems like she wants to stay here with us and become a productive member of the crew. "All I can say is watch her, but at the same time, we do need to try to help her anyway we can. Who knows what actually has happened in her reality? Or even if time flows differently there."Sam continued to sip on his drink and relaxed even more, “ So, enough about me.” he said with a smile “ How are you holding up? Jim shrugged. "Well, I suppose. This data on the near-terrestrial object is... well, it's going to bring forth some difficult decisions. He stood, walking to the window that overlooked the bridge, looking down at the view screen, thinking for a moment. "If that planet has no knowledge of aliens, then they fall under the protection of the Prime Directive. Who knows if they even know what is coming for them." He glanced over his shoulder back to Sam. "We'll save that discussion for the meeting. Before the meeting starts, however, I will have an announcement regarding the Command Structure of this vessel due to Commander Ijoula being unable to meet up with us before launch." He walked back to his chair. "However, I have some things to consider about who will replace him, so I'll hold off a short while to announce it." He said, sitting down again.

“Agreed” acknowledged Sam, “I’ll keep an eye on her and let you know of any new developments”. Having a pretty good feeling that he knew where Jim was going, Sam waived a dismissive hand… “yes, yes time… perception of time… every time I hear anything regarding time I have nightmare flashbacks of those two semesters of temporal mechanics and differential reality and swear I’m gonna end up in Sickbay…” Sam shuttered humorously.

Sam’s face grimaced as he mentioned the planet in peril and the Prime Directive… He had a feeling he knew where this was going, but it would indeed need to be saved for the meeting where everyone could speak.
Sam thought a moment about how it was a shame that Commander Ijoula wasn’t able to make the departure, and he wondered if there was more behind; as generally a ship can delay itself for a few hours to wait for some of its crew. But Sam new better to ask, he knew that CO’s always passed down the information their subordinates needed to know; Captain Harsting was a perfect example as he never shied away from keeping his people informed. But, always on his toes, Sam continued without missing a beat. “Hrm, I can understand that, for what it’s worth I think Major Kinesly would be a good choice, even if it is only temporary, he’s probably got the most seniority outside of yourself and the Engineering Chief, who may also make a good XO.” Sam finished his drink and returned it to the replicator, returning to his seat with another one.

He waited a few moments after reporting to Major Kinsely about the near-Terrestrial object. He didnt seem to have heard him and was about to report it again when he remembered the meeting that was being set up. He then thought he would report this to the Captain then he most likely would have already been informed
He then grabbed a PADD and jotted down some ideas to divert or even destroy the object that is threatening Zeta Rhaphadon Beta 4, that is if we divert course to intercept
He then called for a replacement Tac officer and when he arrived, he turned to enter the Observation Lounge where he heard Captain Harsting and Lt Cmdr Grant discussing some things before everyone else arrived, Entering just as Grant was finishing up telling Harsting of Ann's situation
He quietly moved over and took a seat as Grant and Harsting continued to discuss the possibility of First contact with the people of the planet in peril. His ears and his interest peaked as Capt Harsting mentioned the now vacant spot for the First Offier's position since Commander Ijoula is unable to fill that position, As his eyes followed the Captain over to the window, overlooking the bridge, he remembered back to where he briefly discussed with the Captain of the possibility of him being moved to the First Officer's position. He knew he was a capable and willing officer to fill that position but he also knew there were also other equally capable officers aboard

"Yes Sir." After the talk with the Chief of Security he had felt he had done wrong in not reporting in earlier. He left the Bridge and started to make his rounds again to make sure all is going well. Finding nothing going on, on each deck, he thought that he might need to report to Sickbay as well to make sure his medical records were fully updated. Being new to the ship he also thought that since some Doctors do not trust records that they might want to run their own physical on him. He walks into Sickbay and looks around. He walks up to the first person standing there and greeted himself. "Hello I am Ensign James Zabdiel. I am a Security Officer that had been assigned to this ship. Do you know where I can find the Chief Medical Officer to see if my medical records are fully up to date?"

Ganesa tapped on her OPS console and saw the exact same information that tactical received. Whatever the object was, it was big enough to cause quite considerable damage to its attended target.
"My scans are picking up the same thing, sir.", she replied to Major Kinsely.
Her hands continued to move across the console to run more scans that was alloted. She heard the doors open and closed as the tactical left the bridge. Ganesa just kept her eyes on the console for any other new informatin.

Ducan heard LtJg Grab Foot Of- Two Dawns called his name. As he began to go over to see what he had on the tactical console, he saw him leave the tactical console right in front of him. His jaw twitched a bit as he stepped infront of the tactical console to see what he had on there. It ticked him off that he left before Duncan could say anything to him.
Duncan stepped aside from the tactical console and looked up from the console towards Ganesa. "Thank you for the report.", he replied to him. He made his way into the obversation lounge and saw Grab Of-Two Dawns there.
"I heard what you reported to me, Lt.", he told Grab Of-Two Dawns. He looked over towards Cpt Harsting as he sat down at the table. Once there was an opening, he cleared his throat. By this time, most of the senior staff was already in the OB room.
"Pardon me for interrupting, Captain Harsting and Cmdr Grant, but somthing came up on sensors from the probe that you should know about, sir.", he said to Captain Harsting. Once he had their attention, he spoke up towards them.
"Sensors are detecting a large asteroid-like object heading for Zeta Rhaphadon Beta 4. There is a probability of a collision is 99.23% and the ETA is 7 days, 16, hrs and 22 minutes. Upon your orders, I can have helm set course to those coordinates.", Duncan said to Cpt Harsting via commbadge. If they get there any sooner, perhaps they could some how deter the asteroid like object away from the planet. He is open for suggetions if anyone had them.

"You're welcome, sir.", Ganesa replied back to Major Kinsely before he left the bridge. Ensign Beeker, Ganesa OPS relief officer, came onto the bridge and tapped on her shoulder. She looked up over to him and smiled as she gotten up from the console to let him take the chair.
"Continue to make scans on that probe. If there is anything else new come up, let me know.", she said to Ensign Beeker. He gave a nod in reply that he heard her.
Ganesa made her way across the console and into the Observation Lounge. She takes a seat at one of the chairs at the table and sat quietly before the meeting start. There is always a good chance to use a the tractor beam to move the asteriod like object out of the way, but there is no telling if it is actually an asteriod until there was further findings.

He heard Major Kinsely enter the Observation Lounge and then voice to him that he heard his report on the Asteroid-like object hurtling towards Zeta Raphadon Beta 4, even though he didnt answer back or acknowledge his report
He looked up and over to Major Kinsely, his whiskers twitching in annoyance "I would appreciate any kind of acknowledement that you heard, Major, Not the feeling I am being ignored. I came in to tell the Captain but he is discussing.."
He paused as Kinsely turned to the Captain, reporting what he reported to Kinsely, effectively cutting him off in mid sentence. He wasn't sure if Grant and Harsting had finished speaking before Kinsely had made his report. His tail would have lashed, but as he is sitting down at the moment, his tail is therefore looped around his waist so the tail tip just twitched and thumps the chair lightly, not liking to be interupted and having someone else do what he thought of doing first.
He growled to himself then looked to the Captain to see his response

Duncan looked sharply towards LtJg Grab Foot Of-Two Dawns when he spoke harshly towards him. He did not at all like the way he talked to him in that tone. The only one that had that ever right to talk to him in that tone was the Captain, which LtJg Grab Foot Of-Two Dawns was not. "Watch your tone, Lt.", he ordered him. "And if you had waited a moment longer, you would have gotten some kind of acknowledgement."
Duncan was going to acknowledge him on the report, but he left before he was able going to. That right there what really made him in a real bad mood. At least there was someone that waited for some kind of acknowlegement. It wasn't who could report the findings first to the Captain that was important, it was trying to get there before there is nothing for them to save that is important.
Duncan looked back at Captain Harsting for a response. Now, perhaps they should talk about of how to take care of this asteroid-like object situation instead of talking about who should acknowledge who.

Buford could smell the anger in both Kinsely and Grab Foot even before they Spoke
As Buford sat quietly he listened the when Kinsley was done, Buford looked at the Captain "How Big is it Sir?" he asks then Buford realizes he should have let the Captain respond first

He returned Major Kinsely's sharp glance with one of his own, his ears tilting backward on his head, but not fully layed down on his head yet
"My tone was sufficient, Major. I waited a full 10 minutes to allow you time to answer, as you say, before I came in to report to the Captain, only to find him in discussion with Mr. Grant. So I decided to wait until he finished but I see you did not. Course, that is not important now"
He glanced at his PADD that he brought for a moment, then turning to Buford as he asked his question of "How big was it"
"According to the probes scans, the near Terrestrial Asteroid like object's mass is 12, 427, 547, 326 metric tons. In my estimations, that is the size of a small moon and will cause catastrophic damage to the planet, where ever it hits. In other words, all life will die"
He looked back toward the Captain, awaiting his response.. or Grant's

Duncan looked harshly towards him again before he spoke up one more time. "Computer, calculate time between report and my answer."
</\> Time between the lieutenant's report and your answer was two point seven minutes. </\>
"I apologize for taking almost three minutes to answer you. It was inexcusable," Duncan said, his voice heavy with something akin to -- but not quite -- sarcasm. "However, I need you to keep in mind that sometimes the running of this ship is going to take precidence over an asteroid that's got seven full days before it hits. I think we've got just a tad bit of time, don't you?" , he continued to say to him.
He turned back, adding, "Oh, and speaking to a superior that way? It's liable to get you confined to quarters if you keep it up. Do I make myself clear?", he said to Mr. Grabfoot Of-Two Dawns. Duncan wanted to make sure that talking to a superior officer that way was not at all acceptable and he will not let it slide so easily as some may thing.

His head snapped around, hearing Major Kinsely speak again on the matter of how long it took for him to respond to his report, Fury burning in his pupils as he glared a few holes through him. He did manage to contain an instinctive hiss that he nearly viciously threw at Kinsely
He stood up out of his chair, his tail unwraveling from his waist and it vibrated with suppressed emotion. He stood at semi-attention stance before he slowly ground out "Permission.. To.. Sspeak.. Freely.. Ssir?!"
He didnt wait for Kinsely's response either way before he exploded. His fur spiked, His tail lashed and his ears layed fully back on his head. He slammed his fist on the table, nearly driving his fist through it before growling out
"The only way that you are superior to me is in rank, Major. I had considered the matter closed since the report was made to the Captain but you had to push the issue. You may send me to my quarters like a child but I will promise you that I will not STAY there! We both know that the best place for me is on the bridge, especially when the time comes to deal with that Asteroid that will kill the planet it hits. Now, I would suggest we put this little misunderstanding behind us as figure out how to deal with the Asteroid!"
Between his outburst and the punch to the table, his temper was nullified but some still remained. His tail twitched and his ears tiill remained flat on his head as he looked at Kinsely, awaiting his response
