Thomas held Kyah's hand in returned before the meeting started. He took another sip of his coffee and then straighten up once the meeting started. Waited for a moment until it was his turn.
"The Marines are well past ready, sir. Expect that I still have to go through a list of Marines whom I think would be more suitable for the MXO position.", he replied to him.

Admiral Malc nodded and took notes as each of the senior staff-members gave reports. When Corporal Kinsely had finished, he tapped some additional notes into his PADD and then spoke:
"My apologies for the unorthodox setting of the meeting, the Base Commander assured me that the finishing touches will be completed in our regular meeting room within a couple hours."
He paused for a moment, considering everything that he had been told , then continued:
"Commander Delor, be sure to get your physical done as soon as we are finished here."
He looked to Doctor Davenport:
"Good job on the nursery Doctor. It appears as though you may have to run it longer than I originally expected, as our education director has had a medical emergency. Please keep me and Commander Delor informed of any changes."
Continuing around the table, the Admiral looked to The Operations Supervisor:
"Lieutenant, I'm gonna need you to enable the ship's EEH (Emergency Engineering Hologram)."
Admiral Malc paused a moment, then looked to Lt.Grabfoot:
"Lieutenant Grabfoot, You'll need to work-out a temporary schedule with Corporal Kinseley, so the security teams, and Marines have equal training-time in the ATH(Advanced training holo-suite). Keep Commander Delor informed of any changes that are made, and if time becomes an issue regarding the security situation, please have Lieutenant Kinsely activate the ESH (emergency security hologram) if needed. Our Chief of security is due to join us within a week."
Admiral Malc paused a moment before continuing:
" Although we are technically a science vessel; Due to the advanced technologies that have been added to newer ships, we will also be used during times of crisis. Because of this, everyone needs to be sure to update their official Officer's log at-least once a month."
Admiral Malc paused for a moment, then said:
" Questions?"

After hearing the Admiral's instructions, he'd glance over to the male who is holding his mate's hand then return his attention to the admiral "Yes, Sir" he'd say and then begin thinking up some schedule ideas to pass by Corporal Kinsely
Turning back to Cpl Kinsely, he'd comment "I can have security train with the marines when the marines are training. Is that an acceptible idea?
His ears tilted to the front of his forehead as he waited for the answer

Nods Listening to the Admiral speak "sounds like someone gets a crash course in Cardassian anatomy and physiology as long as the methods are orthidox and sound I agree as for the holographic protocals I believe its time to test the capacity of this ships CPU usage. Engineering would be an excellent point of focus and i'm skilled as a helm officer tactical operator and cleared for star ship operations sir if that would relieve processor load. I'd happily serve those positions till relief arrives " looking around at the crew somewhat short handed but braver for venturing forward on such short notice and so ill equipped he contimplates thier fate knowing that sometimes the decision is made before the fight begins.

Thomas listened to the instructions Admiral Malc gave out to them all. Turned to look towards LtJg Two-Downs and gave a nod. "That would be a great idea. After all, there are times when security and marines have to work together on some missions.", he replied to him.
He believed that both security and marines have to be trained agressively in order to take care of missions agressively.

Continuing around the table, the Admiral looked to The Operations Supervisor: "Lieutenant, I'm gonna need you to enable the ship's EEH (Emergency Engineering Hologram)." She listens to his orders, and nods. She had read about the various holographic systems on the ship... but she hadn't worked with them yet. These holograms, with the exception of an EMH, were new enough that they hadn't been on any of her previous vessels. "I'll activate it as soon as possible, sir. I will also keep an eye on engineering to make sure it's running smoothly down there, of course." She smiles, eager to get to work.

Admiral Malc listened to each of the senior staff give their reports and waited for questions that they may have.
No questions were forth-coming, though a few of the senior-staff had offered to serve in dual capacity if needed until the ship's entire crew was aboard. Nods Listening to the Admiral speak "sounds like someone gets a crash course in Cardassian anatomy and physiology as long as the methods are Orthodox and sound I agree as for the holographic protocols I believe its time to test the capacity of this ships CPU usage. Engineering would be an excellent point of focus and I'm skilled as a helm officer tactical operator and cleared for star ship operations sir if that would relieve processor load. "Thank you Commander." Admiral Malc said. Admiral Malc listened as Lt. Kinsely told him that she'd be keeping an eye on engineering. When she had finished, he looked around the table at the others to see if anyone else had anything to add. When nobody spoke-up, Admiral Malc decided to address the entire staff again: "Some of you have worked with me before," Admiral Malc said. "The majority of you have not.
I'd like to take this time to lay out a few simple guidelines to-which I run my ship on:" He paused a moment before continuing." First of all, please refrain from saluting me every-time you come into contact with me. I understand that some flag-officers expect and demand it, but I am not one of them. Salutes are for formal occasions in my opinion, and only waste both of our time.
Second, When not on duty, you can address me by my first name. We are all going to be together for a while and there is no need for senior-staff to address me or each other by titles.
Third: Although I fully expect everyone to always use the chain-of-command, I also understand that sometimes it is not in the best interest for the security of the ship and/or mission to do so. Whenever possible use the CoC, but if it is an emergency, use whatever resource that is available at the time. If that means you need to skip a step or two, then so-be-it. Our mission(s) and lives are more important than protocol." Admiral Malc paused for a moment, taking a sip of his coffee, which had gone from hot to luke-warm...He took a second sip, then continued:"Officer logs are required at-least once every two weeks, although I prefer once-a-week; These are only necessary while on a current mission. All supervisors must submit quarterly reports on officer-performance and department operation.
Physicals are required once a year, and whenever the Chief Medical Officer deems it necessary.Admiral Malc paused a moment, then looked to Commander Julius Delor:"Anything to add Commander?" He asked the executive officer.

He gave a nod towards Corporal Kinsely as he answered his question, responding with "This is true. Especially if we have hostiles attacking and boarding, trying to take the ship, which I will not allow"
His tail lashed a promise then turned back to the Admiral as he spoke again, laying down some guidelines, as he phrased it. He gave an ears back surprised look when the admiral said that when not on duty, he can be called by his first name
He then nodded in agreement as he explained the chain of command situation and said "Our Mission(s) and lives are more important than protocol" He then thought to himself ~ In some instances, there might not be enough time to follow the chain, only enough time to react and do what needs to be done ~
He then made a mental note to start a weekly duty log and perhaps a personal log and heard the admiral ask Commander Delor if he had anything to add

She listens to the Adml speak and give some guidelines how her runs things
She makes a mental note not to Salute every time they meet thinking to her self "That's great never understood all the Saluting anyways"
Making a mental note that off Duty she can address him as Heath and not Adml Heath
On her PADD she marks down to do a CMO Log every two weeks, He would prefer every week but their only need during a mission, also Quarterly reports on her staffs performances and Department operations
She then Marks down the Crew gets a Physical every year or when she thanks its necessary

Kyah nods in agreement. Remembering to do a log with all the other things she was busy with would be difficult, but she would try. Saluting was another habit she had trouble remembering in the first place. Using names instead of rank was also a good improvement. She smiles, already liking open atmosphere. She needed space to think and she was most creative and useful in duty if she had some room to breathe.
She finishes her glass of water and sets the glass down. She waits for Commander Delor to add something to the briefing. She had been surprised to see a Cardassian on board, especially at the post of Executive officer. She had nothing against Cardassians, so she was unconcerned about his presence, merely surprised.

"only a few things to add at this time Admiral though should I discover anything else i'll keep you informed point one the bridge lavatory is to be maintained and clean at all times nothing worse than a dirty wash room secondly senior staff and officers shall refrain from refering to me as a cardie a sthingyhead or any other derogatory term NCO,s of course are exempt till further notice " Chuckling lightly hoping against hope that the room would happen to catch the joke.

Admiral Malc smiled to himself, as he listened to Julius. He knew the Commander had a keen sense-of-humor, and Admiral Malc was more than used to the Cardassian's wry jokes."Thank you Commander." Admiral Malc said."I think that the rest-room will be up-to your conditions, as Star-Fleet personnel are trained from childhood to keep clean...Unlike some Cardassian provinces." Admiral Malc said, almost snickering, but managing to keep a straight-face.Looking around the room, he continued:"All right, if that is all, then I'll let you all get onto your duties.
We will be launching in two days. Mission objectives will be sent to your PADDS, and described in detail at tomorrow's meeting, so let's finish-up with the minor details, so we are prepared when we leave.
Dismissed."Admiral Malc took another sip of his now-cold coffee, and entered the data from the meeting into his PADD.
