Having served with Rihannsu before he had seen or heard about the oath swearing to the commander of the vessel. Antenna turned and focused he listens carefully. He wonders why Riov Cretak only had her swear to the Dhivael and the Romulan empire and not himself also.

"By all the Elements; Air, Earth, Fire and Water and by the fifth which supersedes and yet binds all the others together, I swear to defend this ship and the Empire. Should I fail and bring dishonor to you, I ask that my life be forfeited."
t'Stellam waited. She, the Lieh, the ship, the Empire, they were all one and came together, as did the Elements, in perfect service.

H'daen stood quietly by and listened to Daise'Dheno give her Blood oath, thinking to his self "A show for the Andorians to see a blood oath given and received Thalev as no doubt seen this, but Imaru must have never seen it"
He wonders if the Andorians would be will to give their lives for the Empire, the Lieh, and this Ship, then thinking "they are a proud people they would do no less"

She watched and listened to the what was happening. Her antenna's curved inward, to first the Riov then to the officer. Hearing the words she understand it had many implications, political, military, personal, religious. It spoke to the center, the very essence, of the one who took the oath. Thus, she began to see what it meant, to be Romulan. A sliver of her past distrust, misconceptions of them started to fall off in its place understanding entered. She surmised this was the reason why the Riov wanted them present. He was indeed wise, hopefully his knowledge of Andorians was as vast. If not, maybe they could begin to fill the void. Without realizing it, her hand went to the Ushann-tor she carried with her, then stopped. It was part of her uniform as an Andorian Exchange officer from the Imperial Guard. But should she be asked she would hand him this. It had served her well many times. In battle and once in an honor duel.

He looks at the Andorians and sees their antenna focused tightly on the proceeding. They are a warrior race, ruthless like the Rihannsu. Yet they both shared the same quality for honor and service to their respective belief systems. He would take time to learn more about their customs and study the material the library had on board to fully understand and utilize them to the highest level of efficiency. Glancing down he sees the female fondle a strange blade at her side. He then notices that Sergeant Claness had none at all.
"Kholairlh-a deleth mnevher (Elements protect us). I accept this oath from you have no fear that I will fulfill your oath to die if you ever betray your trust or allegiance to Empire or this ship," he looks at his painting of his pet hnoiyika (weasel like creature) while handing her neca back.
"Erein H'daen tr'Kaytor, are you also prepared to swear oath?"

She noted each answered differently. So, the words of the officer must speak from his/her heart. As it should be otherwise it speaks of another.
The male spoke his words without hesitation, eagerly, his voice showing his passion and sincerity. The female waited, as if demanding the Riov set his terms of the oath first. Yet, her voice held the same quality which spoke of the passion and sincerity she felt in her being.
Seems her first impression of them, the Romulans was perhaps clouded by her own misconceptions. While there was pause, she debated what to do.
She was told by her superiors,to follow the ways of the Rihannsu-a, if placed in the alliance fleet. But there was no mention of placement in the Klingon fleet. Secretly this pleased her, that she was not placed with them.

"Kholairlh-a deleth mnevher (Elements protect us). I accept this oath from you have no fear that I will fulfill your oath to die if you ever betray your trust or allegiance to Empire or this ship,"he responds a second time.
Taking Erein H'daen tr'Kaytor's neca he turns to the Andorians.
"There are many customs and ways things are done in the Rihannsu Empire. Both of these officers are bound by traditions that go back to the time we first settled the twin worlds. I have studied your race and culture both in times of war between us and in times of truce. I know you are an honorable race, a warrior race. You understand better then any other race on board what just happened here. I do not know of your customs when dealing with swearing loyalty. However I expect that while on this vessel you will carry yourselves with the honor and the dignity you have so far shown me in my previous dealings with your culture. And make no mistake about it, you will be treated as any Rihannsu if you betray the trust of this ship and the Empire."
He turns and hands the neca back to Erein tr'Kaytor.
"Do you have anything you wish to say or question?" directed back to the Andorians

H'daen says nothing as he takes his neca form the Lieh as not to interrupt if the Andorians have questions, he bows his head again and sheaths his neca
Even thoe he has worked with the Andorians before he knows he still has a lot to learn about their culture, and hopes to learn more on this assignment

She looks at the Riov making her decision. She will follow not only the spirit, but the letter of the order she received when leaving Andor.
"Riov Cretak, I have listened and watch this proceeding with great interest. It has help me to to gain insight, losing a sliver of misconceptions. You are wise, far wiser then I first thought."
"Before leaving Andor I was given an order, but it was one that allowed for personal discretion. That was to follow the ways of the Rihannsu-a, if I was placed in the Alliance fleet. Until this, I had decided not to follow all the ways. I now reverse that."
She releases the Ushann-tor, unsheathes his blade. And places it on the desk.
"Riov Cretak, upon my honor and traditions of my people. I will swear loyalty to you, this ship and while in the service of the alliance fleet; to the Rihannsu Empire."
"However, should a conflict of interest arise between our great people I will ask for transfer rather then cause dishonor."
"I place my life in your hands, take it if dishonor or disloyalty is shown."

He weighs her words carefully against what he knows about the Andorian culture. He nods and picks up her blade.
"This is a very interesting weapon. I would like to know more about its origins. And such as I would learn about your blade it deepens my knowledge and misconceptions of your culture. For centuries Andor and ch'Rihan have been foes. In order to rebuild all our part of the universe we have chose to ally ourselves."
"I accept your oath to this ship and Empire. And I would expect you to defend Andor if it came down to a conflict between our worlds. If you had not said that I would have known you were untruthful and would have ended your life here."

She listened to him, never taking her eyes off his.
"I would have expected no less had I attempted to deceive you. But I am not a fool, I would be honored to teach you about the Urshann-tor and how to use it."
She said nothing else, then waited to see what would occur next.

He nods at Captain Kor and looks around to the other officers in the room. He studies his other 3 officers looking for indications of what they are thinking at this time. He notices the sergeant's antenna moving in a slow spiral motion. His eyes, though are still riveted straight ahead.

H'daen as been quietly watch what has been taking place in the Riov Office
Thinking to him self "The Andorians got a show on our customs but I'd like to get to work" as he keeps his eye on the Lieh but is aware of whats happing around him
As he noticed Kor's remarks he can't help but think "She is no fool, but would she or will she deceive the Leih or the ship remains to be seen"

She wondered what the Rihannsu officers thought of her and the oath she gave. But from what she felt, and the subtle change in the room it was not received well. Not surprising at all.
For many centuries there has been mistrust, and unease between Andor and ch'Rihan. Trust for any of them would not come that easy. But if the goals of the Alliance were to be meet then it needed to be worked on.
